There is no doubt that CV-19 will have considerably gummed up the works. This kind of discussion/negotiation will have to done to face to face at certain stages .. its more culturally important in this region than others.Like every govt. in the world just now, Az govt is battling a huge distraction that will trump most other priorities.I do very much believe that Reza & co's preference is to stay in-country and expand there but, Ordubad clearly requires much more exploration before any 'go/no-go' decision can be made & that will also be an expensive decision to get going + it will require splitting their resources at the outset due to geography.Avshancli straddles the CA & therefore, in order to do justice to the opportunity, will require the CA borders to change ... the company does not yet have sufficient detailed technical evidence that the mineralisation out of CA is contiguous with that inside the CA so, that must be properly explored & JORC'd as a precursor to formal CA boundary alterations .. winter weather has delayed progress but, they can really get a shifty on with it now.Gedabek open pit, Gadir underground, Gedabek underground & Ugur are all quite capable of providing feed to the plant until long past the PSA extension decision so, the company can maintain stable production at current GEO and not really have to spend CAPEX .... its exploration where they need to spend & get these technical reports done, well ahead of next February (Q3 this year looks to be the target and makes sense as it will be ahead of the winter period). As frustrating as it may be for everyone, company included, we are in a bit of a holding pattern ... much preparatory work can be achieved in this period and we will undoubtedly keep piling up the cash reserves and i expect the divi to exceed 25% of FCF for All of this year.You/we can push all we want for greater clarity / answers too all this but, that can & will only come from Mr. Vaziri & not until such time as he is legally at liberty to reveal the answers. The BOD ain't daft .. they know the situation & they know that we know the situation so, of course the Proactive host was pre-warned not to raise any of the PSA Q's on the video ... wtf could Bill say if he was asked? It would be a wasted question.I have absolutely no doubts whatsoever that the company wants to move faster & is 100% capable of moving faster on these expansion opportunities beneath their feet & they would prefer to be deploying some of their cash into such activities rather than have it idled in a bank account but, sometimes in business you simply have to wait for the variables to get correctly aligned. Per chance, we have arrived at this point just as a pandemic has swamped the world & that has clouded everything for every business in the world. Cash, Cash, Cash, Cash, Cash, Cash & Cashflow .. these are the critical considerations for every business in the world just now & also for most private individuals .... in this regard, AAZ is very well set. Far better set than most others so, this particular cloud does have a silver lining for AAZ and its investors right now & folk would be well advised to recognise this.IF a second virus wave develops in Oct/Nov/Dec this year, there is the very real possibility that half the world is going to be 'locked down' for 3-5 months. Cash rich, remote from population centre gold miners will be one of the few 'go to' investments + if that does come to pass, Gold price is going to react accordingly as there will have to be another, much bigger, round of QE & NIRP

Wan,my pennies worth.
AAZ managed to start a mine in a year.
Then they had to borrow money!! This time they are sitting on quite a bit of cash and this time why should it take them quite a bit extra time ?
Well they don't want to spend that money until they know what is happening about the PSA.
Oh' yes they are for sure in talks with the Gov. How is the Gov.responding ?
Maybe the daughters of the PM are also having talks with their dad too.
Onething I did not like is that the Co is writing off the plant. That weakens the balance sheet.
Sometimes there are more questions raised in my head then I can logically answer them !
In a way I feel that I am deramping my biggest holding !!
Bloody PSA !! It sure has brought some uncertainty in people's mind.
The market hates uncertainty and you can see the result in the share price.
Have a good weekend all.

Just watched the proactive webcast again and Bill’s take or leave it attitude definitely sells Aaz way way short of where we should be. Even when proactive’s Andrew is prodding him he seems in a world of his own.
And a slip of the tongue saying Ugur deeps was 300kms from processing plant, from memory the haul road is 6kms.

New broker and PR set up way overdue as mentioned countless times on this board.

AAZ - LOL - looking back I see one of my earlier posts 329,,, 15 Sept 2018 where I said,,,

"One last thing, having seen the presentation, although the guy did a good job,,, IMHO he isn't right for that role!! what I mean by that,,, they need a younger dynamic CEO type who's job it is to do nothing much more than schmooze the city, by presentation, wine & dine, polo matches etc etc... the city, believe it or not, still works that way,,, If only this guy was teamed up with such a type,,,,,,,,,,,, he/she'd be worth every penny of his/her remuneration package!!!"

whilst I laugh at my comments, really laugh in fact and although I feel very guilty now for saying it in regards to Bill,,,, I still think this is an area that needs to be addressed,,,, but,,, I can also see why management wouldn't see it that way :-) LOL

Cheers
Wan :-)

Mattjos, Agree with you and MF at 35707. I know nothing is certain and that you shouldn't overpromise but the prospect of only c100k geo production in a few years' time seemed to lack ambition compared with the resource poitential.

Good luck all!

mf, your 35707 post is quite correct.I have absolutely no doubt the company can do better / go quicker than that. The simple reality is would you commit nn million dollars to expansion until you have total clarity on PSA, other country possibilities etc etc or, would you run at current capacity, keep doing the exploration, keep open as many options as you can whilst you have the discussions in the background .. & max the divi payments while you wait.We all realise the current dynamic. As highly as I rate Bill, commentary on this situation is above his pay grade .. it's only Reza that can give the answers we want & of course he is the very one who will be bound by NDA's etc

AAZ - not at all,,, there's a lot to said for gut instinct MF and we all have it and see things, interpret things, differently, which is why it's so useful to hear anything on the subject,,,,, the way something was said, the body language, the slight hesitation, roll of the eyes and so on,,,, they all say something about the thought processes going on in the interviewee's mind,,,,,, ""I'm on the spot here, how do I answer that, what can't I say, how should I come across to the audience"" all happening in the blink of an eye,,, some have great poker faces, give nothing away,,, with others, it's all there to see...... Cheers Wan :-)

I'm looking forward to reviewing the whole thing again when it gets released :-)

Like your good-self,,, I thought the 80-100 answer lacked conviction, almost a,, dam it, I knew they'd ask that!!!! type moment and the number just seemed to blurt out,,,, but I need to see it again a few times to make any judgements in my own mind....

Clearly AAZ management has been excellent so far,,, no doubt,,, so,,, if there is something happening in the background it will be more likely than not, beneficial to shareholders,,, :-)

AAZ and DDDD both feel like they have blockbuster news but can't spill the beans quite yet. Just hoping one day soon we find out what it isThe difference between Bills body language in the proactive interview and in the presentation makes me think he had expected the main news to be published last week along with broker reports but it got pushed back. Probably wishful thinking!

Graham at Stocko did write up AAZ yesterday but concluded by saying he didn't know what to make of it. But my original suggestion he look at it got 25 thumbs up from memory, showing that AAZ clearly has good PI following.

Interesting article on how oil and gas companies are going to transition to hydrogen.
This ties in with what I am hearing at the large contractors I work at who have told us workers that is what we are going to be bidding on mainly going forward therefore clearly the clients, all o&g companies, must have been telling them what they want to buy.

To be fair keeping shareholders informed is not a priority for AIM companies so they would not be breaking any trend but fir such a respected management team.., anyway something to consider. I am past caring will be reducing soon.

Sells had gone through before 10am at 131.5 and 132 so get a sell away after 11am over 134 is doubtful. Depends when the order was placed I guess.
I view it to be more likely a buy but a reasonable case can be made for it being a sell.
We’ll never know and it doesn’t really matter of course.

If they are in talks regards PSA why hide it from the shareholders? Surely they have to update us on what they are doing?

now then, that does lead one nicely into considering the facts in front of us and what options might indeed be going on behind the scenes at AAZ, if any,,, so here we go, I'll start the list and let's see what our combined brains come up with :-) Cheers Wan :-)

1) Plan is real, nothing else going on?
2) Plan has been constructed to minimise the potential AAZ has, downplay it, push out timescales,,,, why? To get the best PSA deal?
3) Nationalisation & game over - never, never, never?
4) Large fish in discussions with AAZ who wish to pay a sensible price, higher than now, but not too high,,, one which management will be happy with - keep the plan bland so the share price holds steady - remember Bill's comment..?
5) JV with AG being negotiated along with PSA..?
6)
7)
8)

Please feel free to throw any thoughts my way and I shall add them to the list :-)

Cheers
Wan :-)

FWIW I thought the 70k yesterday was a sell. It was timed at 11something and was below mid at the time. I don't think in the scale of things it matters but it's not something to get hung up on

bozzy.
I have been watching Pure gold the last month or so, they have risen about 50% in that time. They were at the same presentation the other night. I am not interested anymore with them, their M/C is now 256m pounds. They also have about $100m debt, with those that have borrowed them the money getting 10% royalty reducing down to 5% when paid back, i think that's how it works from memory.
Another one i was watching Libertygold. M/C about 190m pounds.I am not looking aat them either anymore.

Someone said they can't see where anyone is buying here, well they are not looking in the right place. Again yesterday 70,000 shares for a price of 94,400 pounds.
Yes you would think they would raise the price to get the shares for the buyer. But there are not that many out there, and why pay more when you can get people to part with their shares lower. Its a game for them the MM's who are getting these shares for their customer. Keep the share price under check, then when news comes out drop the price, people will get worried, or bored and decide to move on to another gold miner that is moving up.
They are never going to at millions of shares as they are not available.
Most of these shares are in sticky hands, so the best way to get some is to do what they have been doing for a while now. Bore you out of your position.
I also think something big will drop one day here sooner or later.
All just my opinion.
