Someone seems very keen to dump gold in volume at key moments .. again.US$ was unmoved today so, that is not the reason.Interesting impasse brewing up in Hong Kong right now. USA/China friction is getting worse and worse & i don't seem that changing. Growing number of USA voters are polling as anti-China & see the Chinese as completely untrustworthy ... Trump is obviously going to keep fuelling that sentiment & be seen to act accordingly in the run to the November elections. If that is one of the winning tickets for his re-election, safe to conclude he will ratchet up the rhetoric & pressure during his second term.Cv-19 has been a complete disaster for China & Xi must be furious. At what point will they take the gloves off with the USA? They've instantly slammed tariffs on Australia agricultural products in response to Aussie requests for a complete drains-up on Cv-19 origins in China. That will cow Australia but, may also result in USA seeking to stand closer by Australia.A 'shooting' affair of some description between USA & China seems an inevitability at some point.I cannot see any reasons to detract from my belief that Gold will breakout to new ATH's this year

The problem with small free floats is the ridiculous spreads , even on an up day. I’m heavily invested in Altyn ( see another AAZ in the making) but the tiny free float regularly results in a 25-30%(!) spread. Still, if the mid price 15 bags , it will be less of a problem..

Agree MattSnap survey of self declared holders on this thread 2 years ago ? revealed a totting up in my book in the order of15 mil in holdings.I'm sure thats grown even after comings and goings. The investor turnover on this board of substanial holders is very limited imv.

I’m adding tomorrow to help the cause! On reflection I’m convinced enough by what I’ve read and heard...

I'm pretty sure that regulars in this board actually account for 25%+ of the total equity in AAZ, based on what i have learnt from private dialogue.'Free Float' is likely now down to less than 35m shares.Little wonder we have some big spreads appearing.I believe 'free float' will continue to reduce as existing investors survey the landscape and determine more AAZ is best choice to invest AAZ dividendsOne of these days an RNS will land and that diminished 'free float' will simply be insufficient to feed the resultant demand & we'll see a 40-50p up day

I thought the Q and A session was a vast improvement with having Andrew as an interface even it was a little hap hazard .Better than a normal Proactive where you get 3 questions from the floor one of which could be to ask about the Presidents daughters (sic)
It just needs refining so that Andews questioning deals with the main issues.Perhaps questions in advance ?
Lets see this as a dummy run for the AGM where questions will be able to be put to the board with shareholder details also being provided.
Its not beyond the wit of this board to agree on the 5 key q's they want answered and a substantial shareholder can put them forward as one package on behalf of 10 million ?
shareholdings.
Just a thought.

I sent a suggestion to Proactive that to increase audience a combined online live presentation is a winner. Also suggested they toughen up the questioning

Terrapol, yes, nice not to have 3 hours travel time. Post covid-19, they should have these presentation online as well as in person. Best having questions come from the floor and not filtered by the host.

Shares magazine (owned by AJ Bell) had another article on dividend payers this week and still no mention of AAZ. Without new investors, I don't see how AAZ can be effectively valued. Seems we're just the play thing of the MM's. Still, happy to wait every 6 months for the dividend. And eventually value will out, I suppose!

E43 bob on but some people just won’t let it go. Can’t wait for a big fat divi myself and all tax free, sprinkle q2 results on top, bit of agm blurb, along with exploration news and then some further Jorc extension. All good.

I'm not sure I agree with the not asking the question being a negative. Of course we wanted it to be answered, but if it could have been, it would have been in the strategic update today. Frustrating indeed, but we don't want to get into a Michael Howard - did you THREATEN to overrule her?! - exchange!

I agree. It worked perfectly without the travel.
I do want a bravo beer though.

I believe the companies pay Proactive to present hence there is a issue of he who pays the fiddler...

GoodGrief, I think we have some fund managers with a position here. Company to small for bigger funds.
Also I do not think Mr.Vaziri needs an institution with a large holding, now he can just decide on a plan and get on with it without to many questions been asked.

I think we will keep getting updates and Q3 not to far away also for the official resource update.

It was comfortable to attend Proactive without having to travel to London. I think this online way of life is here to stay.

Absolutely! Bill ducked out of answering it last time quoting 'Takeover Rules'. Takeover rules don't apply indefinitely..

he should have asked the question regardless and we could have judged how it was rebutted, not asking anything searching defeats the point of a Q&A

Yeah I thought the same re: avoiding the question. I think he has been doing this long enough to know the limits i.e. companies shouldn't give newer information that hasn't been already released to the market. He'd have seen the questions 100% and chose not to ask them. I thought he did a decent job too.

How come they've never managed to get institutional investors on board? Despite Bill traipsing round the City last year doing presentations. Practically lost his voice by the time of that particular Proactive event...

One fairly recent Proactive presentation, the host for the evening kept banging on about the age of the board... total waste of time and space!
