The dividend should put a floor under the price. What that floor is I don't know, but in an environment where dividends are increasingly being cut, a company with profits and dividends that are both growing will attract some attention. The key imo is to convince the wider investing public that this is all sustainable (I.e. the old LOM question) and to get some institutions on board. If people expect a fair bit of selling on the news, the company should really get buyback authority in place so they can hoover up the shares and transfer them to someone who would like to take a £5-£10m stake but knows it would be impossible to do that in the market.

Surely if there were 'bad' news there would be a requirement to inform the market. Given we have been stalled for such a while, and no news to the contrary, why wouldn't we assume things were A-OK? The last update was positive to my eye, what has changed in very few weeks?

and I must say it has crossed my mind to sell on the lead up to the RNS to then buy back in on the sell off upon the RNS,,, but, so far I have not adopted this strategy,,, but maybe others are doing so and one cannot argue with that based upon previous RNS events :-),,,, enough now Wan :-) LOL,,,,, GLA Cheers Wan :-)

Judging by how many are proposing to sell a snake seems inevitable even with mind blowing numbers because I’m not certain it will be more than financials. Be hard if they sold only for a revised jorc to come out a day or week after though eh.

Yes good find
mf. It is well worth remembering that there are some on here that are getting more in dividends than the price they first bought shares at in AAZ although some of us did not have the foresight nor the balls to buy as many as some !!

I’ve added slightly to AAZ, until I see anything detrimental I see no reason not to do so, whilst it remains cheap imo relative to others that have seen gains this year.

Blimey, the frustrations with AAZ seem to be getting 'louder' every day & I see more & more posters either selling down or imminently intending to do so.I do suggest that anyone feeling that way make the effort to be in touch with management and explain their thinking. The company has always been receptive and responsive to private investors feedback. There will inevitably be periods of consolidation after such periods of terrific price appreciation over the last 5 years but, I personally do not believe the 'story' is anywhere near over & whilst I appreciate that many people who trade / invest either professionally or semi-professionally do not ever seem to value dividends, they are maybe more important than usual just now.

looking at the recent selling i think a few have been offloading AAZ.The newsflow has been very frustrating recently. I'm not sure we will hear anymore with the results. Not long until those now at least.

steveal71, Got screwed in Scotland by a selfish, greedy vendor who wouldn't wait 1 day as the mortgage company was too slow and incompident. Found much more than I wanted, including a large house and land covered in trees for a fraction of the price in Scotland. So took the new wife there on honeymoon and house hunting at the same time and plumpt for a fantastic house, land, to dye for view and a seller who was willing to wait whilst we got all the cash together. Runs rings around the U.K. No not all perfect as you would expect will do for a few years.

Brasso
I keep asking myself why are they not communicating over the obvious share price blockers you mention, telling the shareholders what is happening is the normal thing in well run companies. For instance they surely can tell us about the takeover approach last summer by now, something must have happened they can talk about! Too much secrecy worries me. If the blockages are resolved or at least positive guidance is given as you say the share will rocket. I am beginning to worry it maybe negative reasons information is not flowing otherwise why keep it so quiet?
Hope the results give some guidance otherwise I am going to reduce my holding significantly and add to my other gold miners as this will bumble along in a rising gold market if not. I bought POG at an average of 21p late Feb its up around 30% AAZ is down about 15% its making me think.
