I think the news have been factored in based upon the earlier update. Gold production is mediocre.

agreed KS on ALTN (1.25p) ... I was wobbling on the financial report last week, however in the same report they referred to the share price as being an an "inflection point" which caught my eye as very unusual for them to quote the same.

So IMHO today's totally unexpected move to begin quarterly production reports and show big improvements to same Qtr19 is a huge statement of intent. Even if we are comparing very modest numbers.

Its clear as another poster said, they released 2 separate reports to indicate 2019 is history and 2020 is the turnaround point.

Someone referred to ALTN as being very similar to AAZ in it's early days, so with a mkt cap of just £26m and a proven resource of 3.4m ounces, and a target of 100k a year for 9 years, this could turn out to be the optimium time to take your position for the next few years.

Resource with further exploration planned is expected to move beyond 5m ounces.
however I believe they have a London listing with a trade sale in mind at some stage. Once they are able to show consistently growing Quarterly production reports, the buyers will circle and I doubt the board who own I believe around 70% of stock, will sell for less than £200m.

That's a 10 bag from here and with gold likely to strengthen further for the foreseeable future, could even be conservative.

Lots of ifs and buts, but I'm sure same applied to AAZ a few years back.

Ciniob, it was an official NHS stat that is why it piqued my interest. Debate is raging here about this issue. The official statistics from the NHS do show that if you are fit and healthy and under 60 the chances of you dying from C19 are almost zero. On that basis you do have to ask what on earth we are all doing on lockdown.

Portugal is my favourite place and i would love to be able to retire there in the next few years. Whereabouts exactly are you?

Apols off topic.

That inverse head and shoulders chart is still in play. A breakout over the neckline at 130p should see a target price of 190p. Results coming at the right time to be the catalyst for the chart.

fozzie, I wouldn't take a fat lot of notice of stats, as just about every government is fixing them to suit themselves. Use your eyes to look around you not at some figures that some upstart has beeen told to produce to keep people happy. If people around the world, governments in particular, don't wake up then a afraid there will be a great deal less of us this time next year when the real figures start to emerge. I'm in that over 60 group but am a very fit man and keep away from others as much as humanly possible. It helps living in the mountains as the virus thrives in the city, lots of lovely bodies for it to jump on. I would say normality is some way down the line yet, but will get there much quicker if the masses stop being greedy and realise what is at stake here,,, thier lives....

Wan - SRB received some nice exploration results this morning. Chart looks good, but seems to struggle to get/stay over 90p shor-term. I have only a small holding, but it ticks the boxes for me.

Really pleased with that ALTN RNS this morning - that has increased my confidence to keep holding after the less than spectaculor annual results - progress is now being made.

I saw a stat yesterday that said only 340 people under the age of 60 and without a serious underlying health condition have died as a result of C19. So if you are under 60 and are fit and well the inference was that you should just be getting on with your life. Isolate the vulnerable and the old but for the rest of us life needs to get back to normal as soon as possible.

yes, govt around the world all fairly disjointed in their approach … It is quite beyond me why the UK is only now saying new arrivals to the country will have to self-isolate!
For the last 2 months folk have been arriving at Heathrow and free to onward travel across the UK .. that seems like madness.

First hint of a second wave in the Autumn / Winter and I'm quite sure they will bang the doors closed far quicker

On the virus:

Yes, i realise that most of the national stats presented by WHO are highly innaccurate; nearly all the developing nations ones are huge underestimates.
Eg. A study of Jakarta, based on reliable burial data v normal levels indicates that only ~5% of CV19 deaths are being reported there.
There simply are not the resources to identify them.

This notwithstanding, it is obvious that the virus continues to spread.
So, it's not only a case of a winter wave in the Northern hemisphere to consider.

It is clear that there has been a dramatic spread from W. Europe to the East.
Russia will become a news focus for the media as CV19 is rife there now.
Iran and Turkey were hotspots from early on and though the Turks have a handle on it,
Iran's stats show an uptick the past 2 weeks.
Armenia looking really bad; new infections double+ for May so far what were for April.
Whatever the deficiencies of the measures, if they are the same yardstick then they are worth noting.

Yes, realise Ajerbaijan has a 14 day quarantine system for immigrants.
But we know land traffic with neighbours continues; AAZs supplies depend upon it as do its CC exports.
And do you think that nobody is finding illegal ways of transit across very extensive land borders?

So, those higher reported infections in Azer. the past week should not be dismissed lightly.

Well at last am back on the net after 2 months of having to rely on my mobile and paying for expensive data. I did see though whilst on the phone a price of 69, or was I dreaming. Trouble was very short of the green stuff as have now bought my house and farm so money is tight and even tighter at that point as all my stock was showing a horrible shade of red, some still are but not as bad and thankfully my gold stocks are in the blue. I see we seem to be getting things under control as global numbers are coming down, although some countries seem to have a problem reporting the truth. I hope people think whilst awake and sleepwalk into a nightmare as if they continue to act irrisponsibly as I see some do then this virus will return in the fall with avengence.
Before anyone asks why, I have moved to Portugal and took time to get organized due to lockdown.
