24/5/2018 18:13 | Nice to see a dividend is finally going to happen. POG back above 1300 , which is good to see. All we need now is some positive news on drilling and exploration and im sure we will be on more people's radar. Well done those of you who managed to get more at 46p. Sadly i wasn't one of them, work is too busy. Will i get a chance next week as its half term ? | jeanesy

24/5/2018 16:39 | I'm sure you're right crazycoops. Think the cancellation makes investors all the more dubious as to whether e.g. the Chinese negotiations are now reverting towards sticks v sticks, just when it seemed they were being couched in terms of carrots and win-win with Trump being able to claim a win-deal in as far as China would open doors to increased [market access] US exports [in return for US [WTO?] continuing to turn blind eye to Chinese protectionism of its high tech. expansion programme]. He's also got the wind up the global auto-industry, which got investors spooked earlier. Wrt N. Korea.....gotta wonder if Trump seriously wanted this cancelled summit to go ahead. You'd have thought he'd gag his team, not least Bolton and then Pence from barking out that NK would evolve according to the Libyan-Gadfly template .... Didn't Bolton say that would be if NK did go along with Trump, then Pence pronounced that prediction if it DIDN'T? Whatever, Trump has certainly exacerbated levels of uncertainty which most investors dislike. Gold focused ones excepted. | 2sporrans
24/5/2018 16:14 | Apologies not required 2sporrans, I had presumed you were taking the write down as an absolute write off, whereas I can now see my presumption was incorrect. I don't know the life expectations of these types of machines, but aggressive write downs will help flatter the bottom line in years to come, assuming that most kit lasts more than five years. | lefrene
24/5/2018 16:06 | All the time gold is over $1300 I'm more than happy | jaspoland
24/5/2018 15:26 | I suspect gold is rising due to Trump cancelling the N Korea summit. We continue to be above the 2017 selling price - that's good enough for me, anything higher is a bonus. | crazycoops
24/5/2018 15:23 | Gold not happy below $1300... Are we going all the way to $1400 this time? | terropol

24/5/2018 12:42 | If AAZ get to their 84,000oz max target at a margin of circa $680 an oz then the market cap valuation here is still only equivalent to the gross profit. The assets are all in for free. It's also good to read that the local economy is doing well and that the company is building goodwill through local projects. This makes life better for everyone and hopefully aligns locals interests with that of the business. Onwards now to finding more reserves of viable ore and a divi :¬) | lefrene
24/5/2018 12:24 | Looks like share price angel have made an effort for a change, it hardly screams but is much better than past pathetic updates. Very well done to all at AAZ, tremendous effort/results and optimism for continued growth. The dividend and comments about rewarding shareholders is much appreciated. Exceptionally well managed business and feel proud to own a small part. Great contributors on here and welcome to some of the new more recent posters. Next stop 60p soonish and should be 100p when div is announced-all imo good luck all | gutterhead
24/5/2018 11:40 | All I did was search AAZ google news and both came up. What you say makes sense as I thought both articles look to be by the same person and were on pretty obscure websites in America rather than the UK where it is listed. Cat Sick It is a work computer so they can sort any viruses. Sorry FZ you will have to buy a new computer from your profits MD | misterdeb
24/5/2018 11:21 | SP Angel............... Conclusion: Good financial results reflect robust production which came in at the higher end of the guided range and low operating costs. Strong Free Cash Flow generation at Gedabek has allowed the Company to significantly reduce outstanding debt to $10.4m as of Q1/18 (net debt almost halved to $18.1m as of YE17 from the previous year YE16: $34.6m). The company is also able to plan for a maiden dividend, which, in turn reflects confidence in ongoing operating performance. Looking forward, production looks set to grow again this year with management reiterating annual guidance for 78-84koz gold equivalent. EBITDA and FCF are set to improve on 2017 numbers which we estimate to come in at $37m and $23m (SPAe assumptions: 83koz gold equivalent output, $1,311/oz gold price, USDAZN 1.70, AISC $593/oz). As such, the company is set to be net cash positive in H2/18 with robust free cash flow generation enough to accommodate maiden dividend. While EV/EBITDA18 multiples vary on junior gold miners, a range of 3-3.5x would imply a net asset value per share for Anglo Asian Mining of 58-69p. We will provide our earnings and target price estimates in due course. We are issuing new BUY recommendation today reflecting upside potential to current market valuation. | broken_arrow1
24/5/2018 11:11 | Hoorah! SP Angel re-iterate BUY today & advise; "We are issuing new BUY recommendation today reflecting upside potential to current market valuation." | mattjos

24/5/2018 11:01 | That news site is a fake website created from a search you did containing a load of spurious info connected to a stock ticker trying to get you to click on links to the site, there are a bunch of these spam bots creating rubbish out of india, I would wash your hands and computer after visiting the site ... | catsick
24/5/2018 10:56 | yup, folk might take a day or two to dig down and do the sums for themselves before they appreciate it. Will probably take the likes of Stockopedia to update to help make it obvious. I assume that when a company files figures to the markets, it has to fill in certain mandatory fields which are data feeds into applications like Stockopedia. They then pull in this data and update their databases with it all. Give it a couple of days and when these applications all update and people do their searches then, AAZ should pop up onto various screens and its ratings will improve further .... then there will be more folk coming in to buy | mattjos

24/5/2018 10:28 | What these results don’t really show, unless you either dig down or have been following the company for at least 6 months, is the explosive production growth and cash generation from Q3 on - the company is still being typically understated. However, clearly the dividend proposal should facilitate the putting together of 2 plus 2. | bumpa33
24/5/2018 10:23 | Another interesting smallcap gold play in which i have an interest is KRS. It trades at a discount to its stake in ASX:CAI. I note that share price Angel has now been appointed broker - one need not be a rocket scientist to determine what that means. Anyway, it is one I have tucked away and look forward to stellar gains in 2019. | yasx
24/5/2018 10:21 | Had hoped for a dividend announcement accompanying these results - it remains a proposal, and we have no inkling re the magnitude of the same. However, at least it is on the radar for the following quarter (at least one would hope so), and the results generally look rather robust, demonstrating ongoing improvements across various metrics. | yasx
24/5/2018 10:13 | Thanks for the replies guys, I am very happy with these results any way, especially increased production target and, of course, the dividend announcement. Added another 2500 shares yesterday at 47.9p so pleased to see no drop on news. | gadolinium |
