Oh so quiet.

Nice chance to top up and taken.

Those "sells" at 47.9p are actually buys btw.
Just over 10% retrace from yesterday's buying peak, on good volume.

But nothing has materially changed.
bargain.

Perhaps it might seem silly, but, despite the stellar run and not inconsiderable profits I am not selling but I yesterday took some more on the dip.

Yes the water plant will recover very small amounts of metal. I've been told it might be able to pay for its running costs (personally I doubt it) but ultimately its there to address the water balance not make money per se. In reality the main way it saves money is by extending the capacity of the tailings dam.

As mining operations go, this is still fairly youthful one. These early years have seen the company refine their processing techniques to gradually & cost-effectively increase recovery rates .. but, a fair amount has gone 'uncaptured' into the tailings. We know there is a water surplus across the site & so they evaporate water during the summer months and have introduced the water purification & metals capture processing plant .. I assume this will only recover a minuscule amount of the metals but, wait for details to be released as we have none to date.Maybe we just need technology to advance and higher metal prices before we go after it.Inspired move to get connected to the grid last year before oil price shot up this year!

I'd not realised there is so much in the dam Matt.
Worth bearing in mind if a completely new tailings facility comes into play and the current one drained off.

During a Proactive event network session I believe I heard the CFO suggest a maiden dividend would likely be declared this year barring any unforeseen events.

Interesting price action today. Very high volume for AAz. Not long to wait for results now. Im rather glad im just sitting on my ISa full of shares for now and not fretting over the intra day action for once. Looks like we might be trading and staying above 50p pretty soon .... unless those sell on news brigade gang turn up . Lets hope that they had there day today !!

Can't answer really 2sp.However, since production started, something like 20% of available gold has gone over the wall into the tailings dam.At some future point, metal prices and recovery technologies will perhaps make that an appealing target to go after.New investors here .. strongly suggest you take the time to read & then re-read the FY report. AAZ has a habit of tucking away nuggets of info in their RNS's that may not always be obvious on first read through & the FY report will contain a lot of useful data. Not long to wait

A thought:

When the 2 independent production trains get running [higher grade gold [oxide] + some silver via the AL->SART process and copper [sulphide] rich [but low in gold] via the Flotation->SART], the latter process will leave a fair % of whatever gold/silver remaining in the ore.
So, will the residual ore be lumped onto heap leaches to get most of the residual gold/silver out?

Noted you comment on the subject earlier JB.

Likely, with the rising production + [we expect] reserves, plant capacity will be fully engaged with throughput of fresh ores. + there's all all the quality stockpiled ore AAZ already has.....

But can't see AAZ will simply backfill with semi depleted ore which could still add maybe well > $1 million further revenue pa.

Thoughts anyone?

Astute observation Matt:

"We have a repeated and persistent buyer(s) in 10k & 20k chunks. Person/persons appear to have made a determined decision to get a good sized holding here now.
With the mkt cap now firmly over the £50m threshold now, it may well be a institutional investor who is now 'allowed' to buy due as the mkt cap satisfies their in-house rules.
The value of buys now likely beyond what most PI's can afford in such a persistent manner."

For sure the volume of trade has shot up; even allowing for anticipation of 2017 FY results out this week.
That block of 4*20k buys at 53+p caught my eye.
The buyer wasn't exactly concerned the price had ripped up 7% during the morning; just concerned to seize those shares.
Most PI's would have got in before 'take off' or later in day to buy the retrace [typical, albeit likely very fleeting] - as several here attest to.

Whether the recent publicity is bearing fruit or institutional investor had on a watch/buy list pending a market cap. threshold as you suggest or whatever....fresh buyers is just what the stock wants and seems to be attracting.
Rapid upward momentum also draws in fresh buyers, especially in AIM stocks so could well be looking at a virtuous circle prognosis.

From that recent post with a listing of major shareholders, there appeared to be only one institution holding greater than 0.3% of the company's shares... Limelight Industrial Developments; not sure whether we can actually call it a financial institution either.

On the 29th of June we should have a clear idea on progress.
Not sure when 2017 full year will be out, any time from tomorrow.
We know the cash flow...net profit will depend on accounting % of assets handling.
Cash flow is King. We have got that crown.

Geomagnetic survey results - could be anytime fron now

Bo Doodak

That scenario may play out with the big miners, but I don't think it will happen to the small miners like AAZ. Small profitable miners are likely to multiply in value on any run up in the gold price to $1500 oz and beyond and by that time AAZ will have no debt and will probably be paying out a dividend. Remember that AAZ is diversified and makes it's money from Gold, Copper, Silver and associated metals. The biggest percentage of shares is held by Reza and the BOD, the rest are owned by PI's.

Feel I am best not to be tempted to trade this. It is easy to look at it with hindsight and say you would have made good money doing this today, however the spread makes this very loaded in the houses favour.

A better way of looking at it for me is by doing a three and five year projection of return that should be generated here. For each moving part that makes up the model, I use the "I would be supprised if it was more than this" and "would be supprised if it was less than this" method. Once the figures are plumbed in, a conservative estimate is arrived at.

If that conservative estimate is good enough, I see no requirement to try and trade, just simply buy the dips and enjoy the ride.

Each to their own, just my thoughts

55p was always going to be the next wall. 15p climb from the 40p barrier.
The price will play in this area now..major news will shift again.

I think each new high brings out some sellers, but thats it, I try and focus on what is the value and have held off taking any profits as we are clearly heading higher, In the past I have sold when I think things have got ahead of themselves and been able to buy back lower, but I dont think this is the case now ....
