Its a nice problem to have coops. Both a good Sipp and a ISA can be beneficial to one another.

crazycoops, interesting how the State is outlawing cash, having completely screwed up the economy (and society?) with booms in credit driven property markets, they are now in their desperation hoovering up every crumb, determined to remove the lubricant that keeps the wheels turning! Our servants have become our masters, it can only end badly.

I get the impression that many players have decided on a long weekend, thus nothing much doing here today.

lefrene, lol! Although I just came back from HK with a brown envelope of cash and felt a bit dodgy doing it (although nothing was illegal about it). I’ve got accounts in other countries (the advantage of having had some overseas work gigs), so if worse comes to worse, money should be able to be moved electronically. I would probably start moving it the day Corbyn was elected rather than wait for his Draconian measures to be introduced. I will in effect, turn myself into a "poor pensioner" and let him do his worst. Surely, he would only get a maximum 5 years in office!

I understand that Celeritas and prioritised ISA contributions during my 40s. But as that 55 (or whatever it is by then) gets closer, SIPPs are worth having in addition to ISAs. Contributions into ISAs are capped at £20k pa whereas SIPPs provide additional tax breaks, especially if you are a higher rate tax payer at that stage of life. And if you choose, you can always set your retirement salary to match the personal allowance and take what extra you need from your ISA (tax free) or trading account (CGT Allowance etc.).

Anyone seen that chap who regularly drops off 20k to 50k shares, he's late. Or do PWC take Friday's off as well as the Monday?

crazycoops, I had a curious conversation with the head manager of a branch of a Norwegian Bank in Helsinki about five years ago. One of the other persons at the table was a director of Sanitec, the conversation was regarding the number of Russian property developers coming into Finland to buy high end bathrooms and kitchens, and doing so with carrier bags full of US dollars. "Isn't the cash a bit of a problem", I said to the bank manager. "No no, where is the problem? The cash is good, we put it in the bank" he replied! If I should happen to find myself with an embarrassment of unexplained cash, I think I might go visit that bank in Helsinki! :¬) Perhaps an option you might explore if Corbyn should ever get into No 10 :¬)

Sounds fine for you coops but plenty of investors have much longer than 2 years to wait. I wouldnt advise anyone towards a sipp as its untouchable until you are 55 unlike an ISA which is a much better option.
Only your first 25% is tax free then you do pay tax at your nominal rate on the drawdown.
Many will simply move the 25% straight into a ISA

I agree regarding Corbyn, all hell will break loose.

Hi Terrapol

Agreed that those already invested ought to be pretty clued up on the 2017 results; was thinking about new investors.
Think we may need them to give fresh upward momentum to the sp, near term.
OK, so a few extra weeks wait no big deal and wholly 'new' news will continue to add to the value through 2018.

I am 53 and would not write off SIPPs so easily. I use both ISAs and SIPPs for myself and wifey. If the plan stays on track, we will land at 55 with roughly equal amounts in all 4 tax free wrappers, plus a similar amount in our combined trading accounts.I was able to build up my SIPP in the past few years due to the tax breaks, especially at the higher rate. For my wife, we recently transferred her final salary into a SIPP (inheritance was a big driver along with low investment projections). The net result is that we should shortly be able to enjoy a comfortable and largely tax free retirement. However, a Corbyn government scares the beJeezaz out of me, so I have also created some channels to move money overseas. FWIW, this includes some physical gold and silver.

40.5 for piddling sell but 40.7 if you want to sell 50k.3p spread is just to try and bore people into selling, imo.Buyer in the auction is hoping to get stock at 41 but seller wants 42p minimum.

2SPORRANS, AGM likely to the held on the 29th of June.
Hence the results will be posted before that date. It could be June to get the board to London? Date to fit everybody's diary?

Good morning all.

Mattjos 100% agree on the ISA / SIPP comment. This and other governments have been too busy raping pension pots for their own profligacy.

Better to have ready access to cash from ISAs.

Wished I 'd realised that years ago.

Rant over. BTW my AAZ are in my SIPP. 🤔

Yes, good so much is being put across positively.

Something I'm hoping we shouldn't take too literally, from bottom right of Page 4:

"Annual results to 31
December 2017 to be
announced before 29
June 2018"

"June"?
Not May?

Thanks FZ for news the crusher is being installed.

Jbravo .. your earlier post was 'nail on head' .. most still don't understand it :-). But, unless you'd been a close follower of the company from 4-80p the last time, that is quite understandable. As I refer to it, The duality of the PSA is simply not understood outside a very few PI's and the company management.I doubt any of the spivs at today's presentation understand it in the slightest & I also doubt share price Angel get it .. how can they, when they cover so many others. However, the FY17 results will begin to spell it out loud & clear ... & the financial performance thru 2023 will continue to bang the drum & then, even the most incompetent city analyst will understand. We're here well ahead of the herd .. they will arrive in droves later this year ... at over 80p!

Jeanesy .... rest of the year to keep buying & take your CGT allowance on those when you Bed'n'ISA them next year.Personally, I only Bed'n'ISA winners from trading account. You'd have to be very lucky to exceed the CGT allowance when/if you switch such stock into your ISA further down the road.If they don't pan out whilst in your trading account & you take a loss then you have that loss to carry forward. If you take a long term view and aim to accumulate long term winners that you believe will also pay a future dividend then, you should be able to amass a good ISA. I prefer to use the vehicle ahead of a SIPP as a) I don't trust the future government intent with regards SIPPS & b) once in a SIPP, you can't 'get at it' until 55. Yes, I know the tax benefits of SIPPS but, I don't believe you should let the tax 'tail' wag your head. Just a personal thing.

Yes, MM 3p indicated spread is stupid, as usual & simply deters trading for most.Max 3 weeks to FY results.Q2 update in June should confirm we are, for first time, parallel processing by both agitation & flotation, each with their dedicated input crusher.Still zero production forecasted for silver in that presentation but, Ugur has plenty of it & don't see how they will process the gold in that ore and not the silver ... not a fortune but, better than a kick in the gonads!Should be full-on with exploration now that winter is over.At a loss to explain the selling really but, you can never second-guess other people's motivations. Well done Bill for today's effort
