Is the bear case at AAL a 1 day wonder or something more permanent? I have never held a position either long or short but curious

Production may not be the most important thing, if higher production means a higher AISC which it can do in some cases.

This is Worth a good read especially from page 32 onwards, production figures for 2023 are going to be better than 2022 especially with copper with 825 KT for 2023 vs 664 KT for 2022, also for people mentioning the dividend its stated that the pay out will remain the same ratio of which is 40% of earnings.

I don't think the Green revolution is going to take off quite as quickly as one may think.

It seems to me it's another one of these 'Little Man' getting fleeced again.

Certain guests on financial media buy in very early, then they and the media in general pump the whole idea up to bring in the 'Little Man' and when near the top these financial guru's sell leaving the Retail 'Little Man' Investor carrying the bag.

I don't get this. Rio and BHP, and indeed Blackrock World Mining IT are holding up. I don't see this as so different as to explain the difference in share price movement.

I am down 37% here, but still over 80% up on the other three, and well up on Glencore too. That reflects different purchase dates, but it does make me wonder whether I should take some profits in those, or whether this a buying opportunity in AAL.

I bought AAL, along with Cameco and Yellowcake, because they looked well placed for the green (electric) revolution. Uranium has done well for me, AAL (to put it mildly) 'not so much'.

I am baffled, so on the basis 'when in doubt do nothing' I have neither bought nor sold today. I can't recall a time when I was less confident of how to be positioned.

I had hoped for enlightenment here, but no such luck. You all seem as uncertain as I am! All I have extracted from today's posts is that any share, however far it falls, can fall further!

Turvart - I never buy a stock unless its at least 50% below its 1 year high, for AAL = £18.50 is the highest I would make my first purchase at.

FFS what a terrible day!!!

I had 600 shares in my portfolio this morning with an average of 2530 that I've been chasing down all year from initially buying at 3200 area, now I'm holding 1400 shares with an average of 2204 FFS!! this AAL has given me nothing but grief this year, it was EVR last year!! FFS!!

I have a small position in AAL and added at 1,818p towards the end of the day - surprised to see it sell off the way it did, though perhaps I shouldn’t be!

I remember buying AAL at 700p back in 2015 after the share price collapsed, thinking I had done well. They continued down to as low as 300p as I recall.

It ain't going bust.
It should still pay a dividend, albeit reduced.
I don't think that the figures quoted going forward are as bid a disiaster as the fall in the share price, but then again, what do I know?

It will be interesting to see what happens on Monday.
