Perhaps changing the name from Anglo American to just American might help? 😃

But then they mention decreases in production for a few years. Ok cost savings will help balance the books but I am not sure how the market will react.

Long term buying in the low 2000's should prove a good bet but right now I am not sure if to add or maybe wait for better.

Let's see in 5 minutes with the opening reaction.

Good luck all 👍🏻

Other stocks on the FTSE 100 risers board included Anglo American AAL 2.04%, which lifted 69p to 2224p as investors positioned for the mining giant’s strategy update on Friday.

One area of focus will be a potential streamlining of Anglo’s portfolio, which Deutsche Bank said recently is too complex and diluting the value of the “world class” copper business.

Bought last night almost on the close at £21.60290
Good bet for a bounce at that level, anywhere up to £22.50 range.

The US ratings agency Moody’s on Tuesday downgraded the outlook on China’s credit rating to ‘negative’ from ‘stable’ on the back of rising debt in the world’s second-largest economy.

‘The change to a negative outlook reflects rising evidence that financial support will be provided by the government and wider public sector to financially stressed regional and local governments... and state-owned enterprises, posing broad downside risks to China’s fiscal, economic and institutional strength,’ Moody’s said in a note.

Shares in miners struggled, with China a major buyer of minerals. Anglo American dropped 2.0% in London, while Antofagasta traded 0.9% lower.

UBS raised both Anglo American and Antofagasta to ’buy’ from ’neutral’.

The stock also got a boost from some good news from China.

In China, the Caixin manufacturing purchasing managers’ index rose to a three-month high of 50.7 points last month from 49.5 in October. The reading above 50 points indicates growth in the sector.

If any of these so called "brokers" had ANY idea what they were talking about they would all have the same figure. Prices all over the shop just says to me they are all clueless and any target price should be taken with a (pinch) huge handful of salt. Or failing which, I'll take the Deutsche target lol
