Yep, I also think the Faradion news of 10th March has been kept under the radar for now to allow those who only got 9% of their IPO allocation to load up.

From the admission doc;

“The Board considers that Ultra Safe, while at an earlier stage than the other differentiated cells, has the greatest opportunity to be a transformational product, given its substantial potential advantages over lithium-ion as a storage medium, in terms of safety and cost.“

I think we'll see upwards pressure on these for several weeks to come as peeps and instis build up positions.

Here's another brilliant interview from Avid, this time with Dr Jerry Barker, CTO and Founder of Faradion;

It's only a couple of months old & provides huge insight into Sodium-ion batteries, and is particularly exciting in the context of the Faradion collaboration announced on 10th March.

Didn't think I could get more excited about this investment, but this interview has upped the levels even further.

Kevin Brundish, CEO of AMTE Power said, “This partnership between AMTE and Faradion allows us to manufacture next generation sustainable, sodium-ion batteries in the UK and leverage our core manufacturing expertise. Following our IPO, our intention is to build upon our ongoing collaboration and continue to utilise our production plant to scale and transfer Faradion’s existing new cell technologies to volume manufacture.”

Indeed. I was 'itching' to get into this sector having made a mistake selling AFC too early. Won't be making the same mistake here. This is also a better company with better prospects and a very low market cap.

Not many hotter sectors than electric battery tech.

Also worth looking into our work with the Faraday Institution;

"Launched in July 2020, an Industrial Sprint project with AMTE Power and researchers from the Multi-Scale Modelling project is seeking to identify improvements in battery pack and cell design to better control cooling at the cell, module and pack level. Improvements in useable energy at the pack level of 10-20% or more are expected, translating into either a longer driving range for electric vehicles or cheaper battery packs. Improvements in lifetime at the pack level of 100-200% are also expected, significantly reducing the cost of ownership and increasing opportunities for second life applications of batteries."

Further details;

Combined with the British Volt MOU announcement last year;

And it looks highly likely that we'll be combining on production for certain lines when they commence in 2023...

Loaded up big time first thing, my weekend research uncovered some excellent info.

A significant deal was announced on 10th March, in between IPO doc publication & market listing;

“This agreement brings together AMTE Power strengths in design and manufacturing and Faradion’s sodium-ion technology for a high-performance, sustainable next-generation energy storage technology,” said James Quinn, CEO of Faradion. “Our aim is to further accelerate large-scale industrialization of Faradion’s safe, low-cost sodium-ion energy technology. We are looking forward to supporting AMTE Power’s growth in the rapidly expanding battery market and to jointly contribute to the transformation of the global energy market.”

Faradion are world leaders in sodium-ion technology, this is further confirmed by a deal they signed themselves a few weeks ago;

Phillips 66 are are $38b monster, so we have licensed heavily patented technology that is being improved by a genuine world class partner.

We have the design and manufacturing skills (and capacity) + the relationships with key industry players, not a bad combination!

Simon it might be worth you listening to the 1hr interview posted by stigologist below - it's the CEO 8 months ago talking to a fellow techie about the batteries and the market. Much more revealing than a typical interview with a financial specialists. It seems as if their niche (high power batteries presumably for high performance cars) and years of know how is likely to prevent your scenario playing out any time soon. Good challenge though.

What's the pricing power and barriers to entry on these type of batteries?

I remember when the solar stocks listed, ran well and then collapsed as the Chinese commoditised the market.

PV Crystalox was one British champion at that time.
