08/3/2017 09:27 | Does that mean there is no oil at N2 and they will see if it is at N3? | kryptonsnake

08/3/2017 09:18 | Haggis, Remember Gussows theory? That explains why the condensate wasn't updip, given this was much further updip than modelled. Given NT-2 was shallower than expected, the model is wrong which means they have to look at the expected depth of NT-3 for the well design etc. Nothing at all to do with oil. | ngms27
08/3/2017 09:17 | Davy Aminex Delivers very good Ntorya-2 well test Mar 8 2017, 08:43 GMT | Job Langbroek | Morning briefing | The well test result from the Ntorya-2 well points to a significant accumulation of gas in the target. This is positive for Aminex, but the market may look for confirmation of the scale of the discovery to move the stock ahead after the very significant gains of recent weeks | steelwatch
08/3/2017 09:11 | Edgein, Blackgold, (expert opinions required, ngms need not apply), Something that's interesting with the results that hasn't been commented on yet, is that N1 had condensate, but N2 has dry gas. What does that tell us? Is N2 not connected to N1 Was there no condensate because flow was restricted? Is it condensate in N1 but oil in N2? Also, they mention oil in separate paragraph that also mentions N3 drilling depth, so is it possible they could go deeper at N3 to look for oil, perhaps following 3D seismic? Bearing in mind Mike Rego said the really deep fields won't appear on the 2D seismic. | haggismchaggis

08/3/2017 08:58 | it takes as long as it takes, and drilling NT-3, they might need a bigger rig than the Cariol-6 rig? No. If that had been the case it would have been stated and planned for ages ago. The well site is already prepared for N-3. Caroil-6 is the only rig within any viable distance - it would probably take till 2018 to get a bigger rig mobilised, if they could even do it. Peter | greyingsurfer
08/3/2017 08:58 | slepy, i don't think they concern themselves to much with short term traders, the market will catch up soon enough with the enormous potential thats beginning to now be realized here | blackgold00
08/3/2017 08:57 | I have seen this happen so many times over the years and yes its frustrating but you have to keep your nerves about you and relax as mm take it down 20% or so only to come back up and in the blue by as much as 10 to 20% its not good but makes market makers a fortune in bonuses so this is were they make good money folks so just relax. | datait

08/3/2017 08:56 | David Lenigas? Ignore him! | skinwalker
08/3/2017 08:55 | Blackgold, the Caroil6 is more than capable for these depths. The problems they had here were two fold: 1) They hit the top gas sand higher than expected 2) The pressures were higher than expected What this means is that they probably hadn't got the mud ready for reservoir so were light. They hit the top gas sand got an unexpected kick and had to go really heavy with the mud to kill the kick. Thats what caused the skinning. Moving forward the current model may have the top NT-3 sand too deep so they need to adjust the model for that and therefore the drill design and mud regime to cope with what's likely higher pressure than currently modelled. If they get the mud composition right there shouldn't be the skinning issue on NT-3. | ngms27

08/3/2017 08:51 | bg - so why not say what the timescales are for this? This is not a well written RNS for market to take the news well. | slepy
08/3/2017 08:49 | slepy "I can see that bg. But how long does it take to update basin model? Do they move the rig straight to drill N3?" it takes as long as it takes, and drilling NT-3, they might need a bigger rig than the Cariol-6 rig? | blackgold00
08/3/2017 08:48 | I am at the stage with AEX right now that if it drops to 4-4.5p I might buy few more. If not, I am happy to hold my 450k shares and wait for N3 | slepy
08/3/2017 08:48 | Dunderheed Thanks for that - I am an almost absolute mirror of your basic situation and pragmatism! Much of the stuff going on right now is as result of the "herd" mentality shown by us pi's, ably assisted by some "influencers"(either way may I add for fairness?), but we only need one of the share-gatherers in the background to be an ii and then the real fireworks begin. Sure, the RNS was definitely not crafted/drafted by Carlsberg - more of a Marmite RNS in my opinion - but let's look at it as a marker of where we are in readiness for the next one and, honestly, I did not detect anything that was in any way alarming. My thoughts are that several entities would have had a say in its drafting and each of them would be working to their own agendas. Wonder what the Omani input might have been - just a thought? Would not want to be picking up Jay's 'phone or emails today!!!! LT | last throw |
