13/8/2019 18:08 | Not a fan of Malcy myself but he chats with Doc Holliday here from 23.50. Personally think Malcy has been sidelined by Amer now and has nothing new, except that he says the value of Amer is greatly above todays share price! £1 by xmas. | moneylender
13/8/2019 16:57 | Didn’t R & M sack the fella, Philip, that kept buying Amer..? | ![]() davwal
13/8/2019 16:38 | The amount R&M have been offloading with around 1,500,000 notified today its a wonder the price hasn't dropped more, but it shows there is strength there as they've been absorbed by the market. If they stop it will rush past 20p. Looks like they may be just taking profit on some of them they bought at low sp | ![]() tyler durden1
13/8/2019 16:15 | I am also in the camp of NO immediate sale unless the price is very right. Another 12 or 18 months will make a huge difference to take out price. £1 by Xmas. | moneylender

13/8/2019 14:58 | That's fair enough. Each to their own. But I'd rather spend £1 than 24p 25p 34p or even 38p. I've no need to cash investment but I appreciate others have different views. | ![]() foiledagain
13/8/2019 14:50 | Not all of us long term holders want to wait another 2 years before getting our rewards. As a retired investor I want to spend my profits now ! | ![]() underhill2
13/8/2019 14:16 | Lucy. Fortunately neither your or my reality matter with regards the future of Amerisur. Similar to the multiple predictions of price. My preference though is a full listing and no sale for 2 years by which time I'd expect Moneylender's sp | ![]() foiledagain
13/8/2019 14:14 | River and Mercantile Asset a seller yesterday c1.5m shares, perhaps explains why share price rise stalled yesterday? | rollthedice
13/8/2019 12:56 | no need to argue. as we are in the oil: takeout price P10 25p P50 40p P90 100p probably most can agree and move on | ![]() kaos3

13/8/2019 11:35 | That's hardly proof is it? Who did the deal, JW or GC? We don't know. On the same basis did he snap up Paraguay and Fenix? He's an asset and a good oil guy, no doubt but making him only responsible for anything good? For the record ONGC had already divested 30% in CPO-5 to Petrodorada. Amerisur acquired it and other assets from them at a knock down distressed price and the reason most oil companies farm out including Amerisur is to reduce risk. JW explained it was a prime asset because it was already on a proven discovery, but no one knew it had light oil, it was considered possible including light and medium oil, but it was in a heavy oil producing area. It was ONGC that decided to under drill. On that basis if Occy strike oil, will we blame JW for not keeping all of it? | ![]() foiledagain
13/8/2019 11:25 | ashkv, rossannan - take your childish bickering elsewhere, please. It's pointless, boring and no-one gives a farc. | ![]() bigwavedave
13/8/2019 11:04 | If you don't believe JW was the catalyst then how do you explain our acquisition of the interest in the block for buttons? Presumably, ONGC had already passed on the 30% before we snapped it up. | ![]() lucyp00p
13/8/2019 10:50 | The problem is that the source of information is then only via Amerisur. I have never seen any article from ONGC suggesting the same. Its easy then to claim the success and explain the failure as someone else's choice. JW is an oil man through and through, but its a mistake to treat CPO-5 as his baby, as how do we then explain the failures elsewhere on leases that ONGC has nothing to do with? Charlie. The situation with Amerisur and Repsol and Ecopetrol unless you believe in fairies demonstrates how oil companies work in the real world. I remember a big oil company CP drilling wells early in Eagleford that Empyrean and others participated in, and they certainly didn't seem to give partners or partners shareholders full information, far from it, they had wells cloaked in mystery for years, using those wells funded by others to find a way of tackling new wells, but only after partners were left almost bankrupt and had to reduce their working percentages on wellsand not able to fund others, leaving the big oiler to have a greater percentage on new wells and in some cases the original partners not able to participate at all on some wells even after they had found how to unlock the oil. | ![]() foiledagain
13/8/2019 10:40 | Exactly, Lucy. Attendance at all those AGMs does fill in the knowledge gap. It is such a pity that JW has not done annual PI presentations in London and a shame that the only London AGM was highjacked by trivia (and that, once again, NH spirited JW away to another meeting, presumably in blissful ignorance that PIs hold 50% of the shares?).. | ![]() charlieeee
13/8/2019 10:33 | I am generally skeptical about the folklore surrounding AMER, but enough has been said at the last two AGMs to indicate that JW is at the coalface in respect of CPO-5. Even as operators, ONGC do not have an entirely free rein over decision making and for that reason, nothing will be off limits. Of course, all data is not put in the public domain (ie shared with shareholders) but to suggest that the operator can withhold information from AMER management is naive. The same will be true for OXY, who will already have all the data on the 5 farm in blocks: choice of them as a partner was influenced by their ability to contribute expertise: they do that from a knowledge base. The Platinillo situation was different. All the data was available, but JW had a solution which he did not share, if the story is to be believed. Here, seismic and drilling data are all available for the block and there are no particular hitches to Mariposa or Indico: both producing like Swiss watches and indicative of the potential to come (and a NPV of $248 for those fields alone). As for the rest of the prospects in the block, which is where the mega value lies, JW clearly has a handle on all available data (much of which is from adjacent blocks and not ONGC's work at all: Parex/Geopark, to the north east and the light oil outfits directly to the north already have more data that ONGC/AMER). JW is on top of the game and purchasers will have access to management ie JW: his interpretation will be an important part of realizing value. FWIW, I don't entirely buy the ONGC conspiracy theory. I see them as bureaucratic and strapped for cash. The "3 wells pays for the next well" pitch tells me all I need to know. | ![]() charlieeee
13/8/2019 10:23 | He can't scare us, we've already filtered his trash talk. Suggest you do likewise. | ![]() lucyp00p
13/8/2019 10:22 | My understanding was that JW was instrumental in turning CP05 from zero to hero which either says a lot about his ability to understand the real estate or not a lot about ONGC's in-country capabilities. He explained the choice of Calio, or whatever the first duster was called, as a defensive land grab rather than a realistic prospect, and trailed as much in the interviews conducted and broadcast beforehand. Logic would suggest to me that ONGC would prefer to optimise rather than marginalise his talents especially as they are copping some flack for underperformance. Given that, if my first point is right, he is the shaman of oil prospectors and is probably far more aware of the value of our 30% than any employee of ONGC, I doubt it matters too much what they conceal from him or other parties during the process. But, as ever, wtfdik? | ![]() lucyp00p |
