Big. Interesting. Looked at FCA who show list of short selling and didn't realise it existed. It shows recent short on Amerisur in historical but not on the list now.

If a short position has been notified to the FCA then even when it falls below 0.5% it is notified to them, but can't see any short now.



Public share notifications

A public share notification must be made when the net short positions of shares reach 0.5% of the issued share capital of the company concerned, and again at each 0.1% increment after that.

This relates to both increases and decreases of the position (including each time the position drops from 0.5% or above to below 0.5%).

'To make a notification, fill in a share notification form (XLS) and email it to [e-mail]. We will make this information available on our website. You will not need a submission reference number.

If you have previously disclosed a position publicly and that position then falls below 0.5%, you must make the new position public. To comply with this obligation, email the completed share notification form to [e-mail] only.'

Big: It was suggested to me they had closed, but I hope your scenario is in being as that would mean more buys to close out position. I know short tracker doesn't give data when below 0.5% although they had the short position in September as 0.49%.

These companies are more guesstimates so can never be considered that accurate.

How do you know it's closed, it's likely that they will be closing but all we can be certain of is that they have gone below 0.5%

The 0.53% short has been closed, and that would have required in region of 6,000,000 shares.

So that would have whittled away more sells.

Todays RNS is just a housekeeping monthly return, no further options have been issued.

Well it's quite possible it's Mr Harbour taking advantage of a wee rise on the back of impending news. I don't think some of the recent positive articles are in any way linked but any boost from them would help him continue to offload. It also explains the one-sided buying splurge we saw earlier with very little in the way of sells to compensate and the share price could only crawl a tick here and a tick there. Does look stage managed.

Thought we might have at least matched the recent intraday high.

I think the tranche of 50k sells might have played a part... The board have been chastised for awarding themselves loads of options and were supposed to have ceased. BWTFDIK!

Yep, initial target 25.00p - where there is resistance from way back when. Could do with more volume!

Former short seller has closed their short position

Sure enough, they knew of the seller before the event, knew when they would be near to finishing and so did the City and institutions.

Now they are out it suggests City interest will now ensue, along with possibly more institutions on board.

Any one of the above could mop up any remaining shares for what I believe would be a guaranteed short term profit but an even greater longer term one
