also they are clever operators - news went out on Friday - to see the reactions over the weekend -
they got time to prepare the defense and could act to calm down some of the most vocal (no bribes or threats) over the weekend before the working hours start to tick tock

quite good

A very civil formal letter professionally written with a timely answer demand can force their hand in an legally obligatory manner imho

with a copy sent to the regulator of course

but you see - I am from central EU - not in the London s operational inner circle

but it is the way I do it here

we are missing the following data (as usual by the BOD):

- how many visitors to the data room
- how many offers
- criteria of selection

we just get : so we decided. period

Maybe a letter should be written in all above by the UK resident (my bad language skills and the rest ...) in a professional manner. no answer - I am spot on !

Wardles last interview, around 9 months ago.

If there's an EGM, this should be on a big screen with the volume turned up.

could they have rejected better offers finding them unfit to their perception?

is there a hope for a hostile move of the possible rejected bidders?

probably they got to know the final decision same time as we did

Quite agree! Years ago most RNS's had a line about increasing shareholder value, oddly that line has been missing for a good while now.
The last interview that Wardle did too, still on YouTube somewhere... when you watch it again... what a crock of … that all was.

But back to business with this bunch of shysters still running the show?

They've attempted to shaft us big time for their own greedy self-interest. I think their positions, particularly Clarke's, are untenable.

Perhaps it's already been envisaged it'll be rejected and we'll just go back to business?

If the bid is rejected by 26% or more shareholders, we just go back to business.

I thought about OXY but wondered if they are fully extended with such a big recent deal. Whilst I have sold and been really disappointed by the price (and in that management) I had to balance the risk reward as I do think a counter needs to be cash based and felt hanging out for potentially another penny too much risk with such a board as well. I will be a very interested watcher and genuinely hope it works out for those that hang in there.

Other companies could of decided to await the outcome of the Fsp before deciding to bid or not, why would a break fee be negotiated if it was definitely done and dusted.
What I do find strange is occidental not being interested as they have much more to gain than most with the 50% farm out.

JW has parked his options off shore and parked the drills on hold for many months. Whatever star he had has faded badly in my eyes after this derisory offer and he does not have the interests of shareholders at heart, nor, it seems his staff.

I am interested in the final 8 trades of the day and wonder if a counter offer will come early next week> I heard CERP is probably a better bet though.

Even if the bid were blocked, I doubt us peasants would find enough votes to throw out the existing BoD? Would we find another JW easily?

GC having complied with Mich's wishes will no doubt call on his support and others who have already pledged shares to Geo

Unfortunately I can see the cash offer of 19.21p being passed by 75% majority. Should the offer not be passed I also would want to see new Management. We need new Management who want to add shareholder value. I also cant see any counter offers coming in. All potential bidders have had months to make offers. This is not a game we are playing. Management wanted a cash offer and the current offer must have been the highest offer made. Thats life !

I cannot see where people think this white knight is going to appear from. The company announced it was for sale and logic suggests that any interested parties would have put their bids in through this process, I certainly cannot see any company coming in at this late stage. Therefore it seems to me that to carry on, ie refusing this offer would also need an egm to remove the current BOD, I believe most investors here are of the opinion that the BOD are a self seeking lot of non performers. I certainly do not wish to carry on being invested in this company with this lot running it.

Of course we have never been told the numbers that vote so is it possible that 75% vote against and are simply ignored? With any other company, that suggestion would be ridiculous.

Also, we should take note of all the contacts listed on 8.3 announcements and tell them we are going to vote this down, just in case they think they have to agree.
