19/12/2017 07:38 | To use an old comment ROFLMAO You don't need charts to work that out as City and Institutions can know on a daily basis how many RH has left, and so the short in place was virtually guaranteed success as they would know also. The only people who didn't appear to know were the shareholders. That's how this false market in Amerisur has worked, and no doubt aided by some posters in breach of FCA rules or ADVFN rules acting for their companies and not private investors who in the main have been in the dark. | foiledagain
19/12/2017 05:05 | Mornin' I may have been accused of being a little bit bearish with regard to amer and I can't deny that the RH position gave me some cause for concern. However yesterday's rns has been the first for some time that imo provides some much needed support. Following on from the Director purchases the acquiring of stock by an ii at this level does very much help to underpin the price. Even if RH is continuing to reduce his holding the fact that other ii's are prepared to increase their stake in effect reduces the downside potential. 10p may certainly be a bit of a stretch now and with the share price pinging around this level for a number of sessions it appears that plenty of others see this as a decent entrypoint. Tech-wise that gap from a short while ago is now closed and some momentum indicators on the daily chart are flashing oversold. On the weekly they're mostly benign and for me the key area is the 18.5 level. That goes and we should see a retest of 22p fairly quickly especially if the volume is supportive. Although there are still some headwinds at least in the short term from sector and oil price weakness amer hasn't responded in any way whatsoever to the bottoming of the sector in 2016. Catch-up time? Watching very closely and make take a position today with the right set-up. Gl | boris cobaka
18/12/2017 20:46 | The shorting was increasing. "SOL figs out for November. Amer has seen an increase from 1.52% in October to 1.63% for November which is roughly in stock terms is 17.8mil to just over 19mil on loan". Shorters will certainly not be cheered up by today's RNS: rightly or wrongly, the assumption always has to be that a major institutional shareholder does have a better knowledge. | charlieeee
18/12/2017 15:43 | Let’s hope R&M have bought for their income fund - then maybe we will see this company pay a dividend. I’ll leave it to someone else to explain to the chairman what a dividend is. | sharesure4
18/12/2017 15:42 | As Rex's holding gets less ,there may be a scramble to pick up the last of his holding ,we have had a rare opportunity to buy shares in a grossly undervalued stock ,,thanks Rex !! | trotting12
18/12/2017 15:00 | I'm sure R&M and the other institutions have considered that but may consider its more likely that Amerisur will be subject of a takeover with a nice profit in it. | foiledagain
18/12/2017 14:39 | God help R & M if they ever decide to sell, they will be killed. | lucyp00p
18/12/2017 14:18 | We also need to consider the last disclosed short position for Amerisur, and this does not include private short positions where that position is .2% or less and it doesn't include spread betting and I'm not sure whether it include CFD's. FCA SHORT DAILY UPDATE GSA Capital Partners LLP GB0032087826 0.49% GSA Capital Partners LLP GB0032087826 0.53% GSA Capital Partners LLP GB0032087826 0.60% GSA Capital Partners LLP GB0032087826 0.52% HTpps://www.fca.org. So we know on 30/9/17 RH had 69,945,293 which represented 5.77 We know R&M have bought another tranche and we know GSA at some stage will have to purchase shares to cover the short This is all information the City checks out every day, but likely to make some players on the side blink It does not seem to be a coincidence that as RHs holding drops, so does the shorting curve. | foiledagain
18/12/2017 13:58 | Yes, institutions adding, directors adding do not give the impression of problems. Rex's holding at 30/9/17 was 69,945,293 so I wonder what it is now. Perhaps Amerisur will update us on any RH disposals Be good to see Giles and Nick putting more money in | foiledagain
18/12/2017 13:43 | Nice to see them increasing holding. I'm in for some more here as no smoke without fire. Good luck all | seball
18/12/2017 13:43 | yes R & M had 5.61% previously | value viper
18/12/2017 13:41 | looks like they've 'topped up' Rex has been very generous. | boris cobaka

15/12/2017 18:27 | Does any of you guys ever think that with spread betting and this company actually being so good and making money ,lots of punters can and might be betting that this Amerisur,s share price is going up So if theres that much betting with spread betting company,s they in turn will hedge there positions as to keep the price down Lets face it IG and City index etc have a lot of clout ???? sorry if I bored you,s and TIA | jumpenjim
15/12/2017 17:28 | "I am perplexed at the very least why the shares remain at current levels." so are we, Malcy! | currypasty
15/12/2017 12:31 | chopper harris1 15 Dec '17 - 08:29 - 5787 of 5796 0 0 0 What on Earth is going on here? Chopper it's fairly simple. Selling pressure currently outweighs any buying that exists. Why is that? Well it's likely that a large holder (rex harbor) is continuing to reduce so as or until the buy demand is sufficient to negate the Rex effect the share price will most likely drift lower. Another factor I believe also currently in play and partly responsible for the lack of demand is we're currently in the midst of a corrective move lower in the oil sector which may be confirmed this week if we close below the 10dma on the weekly. Whilst this correction plays out there'll be less of a demand for o&g stocks. | boris cobaka
15/12/2017 12:16 | In 2018/19 I definitely agree there should be a dividend if cash flow allows. | acv74
15/12/2017 11:50 | Given the logic of the market here, paying a dividend & reducing the value of the company and its ability to explore would absolutely increase the share price After all, what else are they going to do with all that money? | lucyp00p
15/12/2017 11:21 | Why aren’t more of the shareholders demanding that the company pay a dividend? If Amerisur is producing around 7,000 b/d and making, say $40 surplus per barrel then paying out the odd $20-30 million dollars to shareholders, in stead of spending it drilling more holes and just paying the directors’ salaries and achieving no increase in the share price, would make more sense. It might encourage a few institutions to consider investing and that in turn would be likely to result in more scrutiny and accountability of the Board of Directors. Maybe Clarke doesn’t think he would last long with that scenario. Well, there’s a thought! I have been in this since it was Sardines and Chaco. The Board’s strategic direction seems to be one of perpetuating their salaries and sod the rest of us. What other company is making this amount of cash flow and has a declining sp? | sharesure4
15/12/2017 11:17 | A big 2018 ahead I think. At our 2018 target of 15,000 bpd, that gives an operational netback of almost $20 million per month at current oil price.Sometimes as a fundamentalist it feels like swimming against the tide of traders, but value will out in the end. | acv74 |
