21/12/2017 17:29 | From the "UPS" thread at 16:28pm... UPS AMER 17p ( 16.75-17.25p ) Reasons: Rising volume today after some time holding at lows. Very good Indicators being at oversold and now rising, but the main positive one is the MACD ready to cross over "0" and divergence at the same time. This share is well undervalued ( most Analysts say so too ), has strong cashflows as an oil producer with Average production of 7,037 b/d, oil price well up and best for the Year. 21/12/2017 17:22 | Tony, sounds like you are ready to join a push to get GC voted off when we get the chance. Whether the hype around his appointment was ever true, he certainly doesn’t seem to have many friends left in the City. They certainly aren’t rushing to invest in Amerisur with him as Chairman. In the short term I believe the company needs to learn the discipline which paying a dividend imposes on the Board. There is little point in drilling more holes whilst no credit accumulates. Also, there should be ample justification for giving shareholders a dividend for the pipeline investment which was meant to be such a great idea. So far it seems to be a very under-utilised asset. | sharesure4

21/12/2017 15:10 | A few following in Philip Rodrigs` footsteps hopefully. Might we have a Christmas Whoosh? Probably not but it feels justified. Happy holiday all. Hold tight. | alfieduncan
21/12/2017 14:36 | GC was appointed in Feb 2007. There was a major fund raising in May of that year at 6p/share. | blackdown2
21/12/2017 14:20 | Talking of things GC and if he has any reputation left (5854) ... GC’s coronation as Chairman of CHP/AMER was almost eleven years ago. The proclamation was on 27 February 2007 with the share price around 12.5p. Once JW's knowledge and oil experience started to look positive, GC started introducing “city types” to the BoD (and later got rid of some!). GC and his hand-picked team, by using their claimed skills and experience over eleven years, have managed to enhance the share price by an average of 2.5%p.a. to the present levels around 16.5p. BIG DEAL ? The FTSE 250 more than doubled in that period. An interesting exercise while letting the turkey (no pun - but apposite!) settle would be to go through the Annual Reports to add up exactly how many millions (yes, millions!) of £/$ CG and his pals have paid themselves in Remuneration, Fees and Benefits* while producing this present abysmal level of enhanced value for shareholders. *not forgetting the payments for “services̶ | tonyrelaxes
21/12/2017 13:25 | roth - mates rates for institutions to get in is the stuff of urban myths. MMs play far less games than the imagination of many a BB poster would like to imagine. PIs can buy because the MMs make a market. IIs buy and sell on changes in strategy and have much bigger problems, both buying, and selling, in the volume they trade. I know a fund manager who wanted "in" to a company, but only if he could have a £5m stake at a set price ... imagine trying to work that through, knowing if you can't get the whole lot, the sale is off. No games, just good contact lists and a lot of calls (I have taken calls from my own broker in the past to ask if I'd be interested in selling, or indeed buying, blocks at set prices - particularly AIM stocks. | the drewster
21/12/2017 12:54 | A lot has been heard of the supposed selling taking place, but this stock has all the feel of being held down at mates rates so the institutions can buy in whilst PIs are the main contributors!!! | roth
21/12/2017 12:48 | Could be worse: Sovereign Mines of Africa - Suspended, looks like de-listing. Now KENV release this gem: Kennedy Ventures plc ("Kennedy Ventures" or "the Company), the AIM quoted investment company who, through its stake in African Tantalum (Pty) Limited ("Aftan"), has an interest in the Namibia Tantalite Investment Mine in Namibia, announces that it will not be in a position to publish its audited accounts for the year ended 30 June 2017 before the deadline of 31 December 2017, as required by the AIM Rules for Companies. As a result, the Company's shares have been suspended from trading with immediate effect and will remain suspended until such time as the Company is in a position to publish its audited accounts. ... Meanwhile Ironveld is busy hiring one of the boys as a Non-Exec Director at a time when management should only have one thing on their mind, funding. Snouts in a very small and rapidly shrinking trough. This may not be a great investment, but it's certainly the best of GC's little collection on AIM. Does he have any reputation left any more? | al101uk
21/12/2017 12:35 | Well they say buy when the share is unloved....I bloody hate mine Time for more then... | 99barracuda
21/12/2017 10:45 | Got a good record over the last nine years anyway: hxxps://www2.trustne | al101uk
21/12/2017 09:59 | Well, Lucy, you are in good company, as this is the River and Mercantile chappie who is also steadily increasing his stake in AMER. One has to ask the question, is he going to dig into his pockets, deep enough to spring the bear trap, or wait for events? "Manager profile Philip Rodrigs is a Partner of the River and Mercantile Group's Equity Solutions division. Philip specializes as an investor in UK listed firms. Philip joined River and Mercantile in March 2014 following a successful 8 years with Investec Asset Management, having grown the multi-award winning Investec UK Smaller Companies Fund to over $1bn and being recognised as Investment Week Fund Manager of the Year 2010 and 2011 and the Morningstar OBSR Outstanding Rising Talent in 2012. Philip also managed the UK All-Cap Investec UK Alpha Fund and latterly co-managed the Investec UK Blue Chip Fund. Philip has been investing in AiM listed stocks since graduating from Oxford University in 2002, with spells at Invesco Asset Management and T Rowe Price Asset Management prior to joining Investec in 2005". Seasons greetings to you and all the "real" posters on here and special thanks to al101uk for time taken setting up this thread. | charlieeee
21/12/2017 08:48 | Lucyp00p, Tough lessons learned in your household... three years and they just wanted a Playstation ;-) | al101uk
20/12/2017 23:10 | have not looked at this for many years and interested to see it got a mention in Trader Talk in the Evening Standard today following River and Mercantile raising their stake and mentioning Investec upgrading to buy with a tp of 25. | cerrito
20/12/2017 18:15 | For the last 2 years I have given my kids Amerisur shares equivalent to the value of the latest PlayStation. This year they're getting an Xbox! | lucyp00p
20/12/2017 16:39 | You can say that again. share price performance has been nothing short of pathetic over the last year. | blackdown2 |
