Give it a rest you boring boring needle stuck in the record, tedious conspiracy theory nutcase. Nothing you have said in months changes anything and nobody gives a toss about your favourite villain.

End of....why because you got it wrong

I notice you could not dispute facts

I remember all the posts suggesting RH selling any at all was a conspiracy theory.

But its also an opportunity for the patient

You're still doing it!

But you fail to recognise my substantive point that there is absolutely nothing that the company can - nor should - do about this so far as running the business is concerned.

It is a side issue.

End of.

RH selling was suggested to be a conspiracy theory eons ago....only the was it confirmed as being fact.

Good news can only be used once, and the good news that has emanated has been virtually useless in holding the share price

Can you point to the RNS from RH confirming his shareholding status, indicating the transaction is over? NO

Can you confirm that Amerisur had to get the company registrar to ascertain on two separate occasions that RH's holding had reduced? YES

This continued banging on about selling by RH (by a select few posters) is not only boring and an excuse for every flicker one way or another in the share price, but it is plainly misguided and, probably, wrong.

This is exemplified by the comments in the last post (5736).

The directors and indeed their advisers would be breaking corporate governance rules and exchange rules if they are withholding information which could affect the share price (good or bad) because it suits them.

Similarly, it would not make commercial, business or financial sense to delay progress in any significant manner simply because it may not have any immediate or short term effect on the share price, due to downward pressure on the share price due to a significant seller (real or imagined).

The directors' duty is to build shareholder value over time, and not making and implementing relevant business decisions to do it would be..... well, stupid as well as wrong.

PS Please don't reiterate the conspiracy theories which have been on here for months now in response to this post because it will be..... well, boring and stupid IMHO.

Not sure if a known seller is a legitimate reason for company directors to manipulate or constrain corporate activity. If it's permitted in AIM, all the more reason to list on the main market.

This all comes down to whether RH is still selling.

If he is, you could understand Amerisur doing everything possible to avoid good news that would be otherwise wasted, hence the CPO-5 news which they had to report come what may.

What incentive is there for a BoD to make substantial progress if that news does nothing, and many here have noted that is exactly what appears to have happened.

So for me it does come down to the status of RH's holding, or until there is clarification of it, or until an institution steps up to the plate, which they will.

IF JW does see an end to RODA pipeline constraints he's certainly keeping that pretty close to his chest, given it was reported talks were underway in April - since when, nada. That situation seems material to me, and I'm very surprised it just ended up in the long grass.
Maybe that will be our Christmas (2017) present, a sudden uplift to transit capacity...

Crikey, I wasn't expecting year-end production from a non-existant well, but my point was that Amer clearly expected 7200 bopd in 2016 anyway, i.e from Platinillo wells only.
In that regard, by only now having the same target WITH COP-5 suggests the company has seriously modified their thinking/capabilities reference Platinillo production.
To me, at least.
The header above refers to the company failing to meet stated targets, I have highlighted one area.
Again, how production is increased to hit the next target is still shrouded in doubt given no real clarification on resolving pipeline constraints.

Lucy,
No, the Bitcoin chart doesn't make any sense and neither does the narrative.

My view of Bitcoin is that its a bubble, based upon nothing tangible.
One day, when the music stops, it will burst and whoever is left holding will be holding nothing more valuable than hot air.
Don't let it be you!
Be satisfied with a sensible profit and walk away.

I think we need to see the dec production figures out in early jan ,to show amer to be producing 7k a day from their own wells for amer to claim they hit their year end targets

That is absolutely bonkers

how could the target last year include a well where they didn't even know the results or even whether it was going to be successful.

Targets are on based on production, wherever it is produced from.

Lucy

These two lines from page 46 of the Analyst Site Visit Report of September '16, pre Mariposa-1.

Targeting 2016 exit production rate of 7,200 BOPD
Targeting 2017 average 7,500 to 8,500 BOPD

Yes the recent (same) target now includes CPO-5. It didn't last year.
That looks to me like moving the goalposts - but please yerself...

What are you talking about Davwal? The 7k target always included CPO5 - see post AGM RNS. Suggesting that Mariposa somehow saves our blushes is ridiculous.

Basically, if any other business missed targets by the same degree they would be hammered unmercifully.
They have been :-(

The value for me, of that post was the comparison, with AMER and the similarities.

With all the ingredients in place, AMER could rise again to be the next "Parex" success story.

The current discount is not entirely sentiment: JW needs to deliver drill bit success and shake the shorters into a hasty exit to reverse the trend which they are following/creating. Surely "blame" has to rest on the company and the CEO, including their failure to respond timeously to concerns voiced by a major shareholder?

Not enough people believe the story. In recent times we have had two examples of the company targeting significant goals ie the oba and 7k output. These have been achieved but in the process of getting there management missed their own targets so consistently that all the good news had been sucked out of the story by the time it happened. Investors see that good news is so poorly delivered that the share price goes nowhere.

Without Mariposa-1's contribution, Amer would once again fail to hit the year-end production target it was anticipating to hit 12 months ago, i.e. 7000 bopd. Output uplift has been painfully slow given the commissioning of the OBA and additional wells being brought on stream.
Basically, if any other business missed targets by the same degree they would be hammered unmercifully.
The company also fails to update on key operational problem areas, such as the capacity restrictions across the river, that potentially severely limit expansion - thereby leaving current and potential investors totally clueless on the future direction/value of the stock.
Okay, the market does currently seethe with indifference regarding good news from small oilers, but the directors do need to up their game to reenergise interest in the stock.

Interesting. However, I do think that management have a grip and have a very capable and knowledgable CEO.

Whilst I appreciate that investors (private and professional) will have different methods of calculating fair value at any given point in time, my own view is that AMER is trading at well below a reasonable valuation. If you subscribe to this view, then you have to ask what is creating this discount.

A board that consists of directors who are 'not interested in the share price' is quite a problem for us mere shareholders.

More quality research over on LSE, by JTD, with pertinent comment

"Parex Resources

Is our immediate neighbour to CPO-5, with 55% interest in the prolific block Llanos-34 block. Apparently they are the best performing resource stock on the Canadian index since the oil crashed below $100/barrel - that's according to an article attributed to Bloomberg.

It just proves that Colombia is not a killer for a company's share price and it is possible to do very well - so what's up with Amer apart from a significant seller(s) depressing the SP? IMO the only real problem aside from locality is management consistently missing targets and not getting a grip. If they do so, even simply setting targets they can achieve is a start, then I think the other problem will disappear very quickly. Extract from article:

"... the benchmark index’s top-performing, post-crash energy producer — Parex Resources Inc. — is a small company focused on extracting one commodity from one geographic region. Parex is one of only four stocks in the 50-company S&P/TSX energy index that have gained since July 30, 2014, the last day oil closed above US$100 a barrel.

The gain by Parex shows how investors have taken a liking to small producers who focus their operations in one region and aren’t too adventurous with their capital spending. While their diminutive size may seem like a disadvantage in a business dominated by behemoths, being small allows producers to provide investors with a clear picture of their plans and to wring out costs that larger operations can’t avoid.....

“They’re just more focused, more focused on costs,” said Ken Lin, an analyst at Paradigm Capital in Calgary. “In a lower price environment, the lower cost operator is the better operator.”

Parex, based in Calgary, produces oil in Colombia through both new wells and by reactivating old fields using enhanced-recovery techniques. The company also held assets in Trinidad & Tobago when it was split off from Petro Andina in 2009, but sold them to focus on its more promising Colombian operations. The shares have gained 11 per cent since oil slipped below US$100. The broader energy index has slumped 33 per cent.

Driving Parex’s gain has been a debt-free balance sheet and an ability to increase its reserves and production entirely out of its cash flow, said Lin, who in a recent note nominated Parex as perhaps “the best oil and gas company in the universe.”

Chief Executive Officer David Taylor said that the company will continue to focus on Colombia, rather than try to transport its expertise elsewhere.

“We know how to do business here,” Taylor said in an interview from Bogota, where he spends four to six weeks a year. “We have a very strong team here, we understand the geology. Why would we change what we want to do?”
"

Some of the statements actually also describe Amerisur, I think perhaps the management need to get a grip of things and start driving the co
