08/12/2017 00:57 | Two men sit across a table, one says I'll bet you £1000 that you can't roll a 6 on this dice, you get one attempt, you get a six I'll give you £1000, you get any other number you pay me £1000. The man takes the bet, rolls the dice and gets a six first time out. He proclaims that he knew that he would roll a six, that the stars were aligned and that everyone that sneered at him for taking the bet was wrong and an idiot. His successful dice roll had proven that he was right to take the bet. Anyone who agrees with that statement shouldn't be investing in my view. | al101uk
08/12/2017 00:47 | I stand by what I said, you made money, I didn't say you couldn't. People also made a fortune on UKOG, I didn't as I didn't see the value. I'm sure people made life changing amounts of money in tulips in the 1600's and beanie babies when that craze hit. Even the dot com bubble probably made someone out there rich. Worthless assets can be priced at insane levels as is being proven by bitcoin. The problem is you can't predict what happens next, will it double again, or crash and burn. It may even begin to justify it's value... who knows. I'll rephrase that... I can't predict what will happen next, marnewton and Boris may be able to take a stab. So many things that I have considered overvalued have gone up that getting it wrong is second nature in that regard. What matters is that the majority of the stuff I invest in is valued correctly and that gives me an edge rather than a dice roll or the flip of a coin... even a virtual one. In other news, I bought some Ripple recently... lol. | al101uk
07/12/2017 21:42 | Anyone fancy a good laugh? Check out posts 3223 and 3224. | lucyp00p
07/12/2017 19:50 | You are needy, boris. I saw him this morning in the shaving mirror;¬) I'm still busy building, but have standards to maintain, personal grooming-wise. I stated my intentions in my last post, for anyone who was interested, so tranche three has gone. The stop-loss for the first two tranches is obvious, but I won't be chased out by one of AMER's spikes - not that I'll be around to see it. M | marnewton
07/12/2017 18:19 | Company said that sustainable exit rate will be over 7,000 bopd, so compared with the mid/late Dec share price last year, it’s a reasonable comparison. If you don’t like it, tough luck. | blackdown2
07/12/2017 18:02 | re: #5685 "now at approx 7,000" Misinformation! Daily throughput, i.e. sales, is currently 5768 barrels. That's some way off 7000. | bakoven
07/12/2017 17:32 | Second day running that the biggest buy trade went through 20 minutes after market close. | lucyp00p
07/12/2017 16:57 | This time last year, the share price was 26.5p. Production was approx 4,500 bopd, the OBA throughput was under 2,000 bopd and the oil price about $3/4 per barrel below the current figure. We are now at approx 7,000, with most going through the OBA, the company has acquired some additional assets at knock down prices and the oil price looks reasonably stable. It’s not obvious why we are trading at such a discount to the Dec 2016 price. | blackdown2
07/12/2017 16:55 | If the P-27 well was spudded the day before the RNS, i.e. 12/11, the result should be made known from middle of next week. I doubt there's be any news leak this early. | davwall
07/12/2017 16:50 | Anyone seen Marnewton? | boris cobaka
07/12/2017 16:48 | Interesting day. Rex gotta buy some crimbo pressies so the dumpathon is being ratcheted up a notch or two... | boris cobaka
07/12/2017 16:43 | They are usually pretty good at keeping info under wraps. | blackdown2
07/12/2017 16:41 | But will the results be ok or has information been leaked that all is not rosy?. | bryet
07/12/2017 16:20 | next year?? "Platanillo-27 on Pad 2N is drilling ahead on time and budget and we expect results from this well in December" | the drewster
07/12/2017 16:17 | The problem is management have shot their load re director buys so where is support going to come from. Clearly 7000bopd doesn't cut it and the next RNS could be next year. | dodge city
07/12/2017 16:14 | sub 17p ... anyone would think management were hiding bad news. | the drewster
07/12/2017 14:40 | Whatever logic is behind AMER it's driving it down. 15p is now starting to look inevitable. | dodge city
07/12/2017 13:47 | Hope your bitcoin bubble don't burst Lucy. If it does you will still have Amer as a backup I suppose. | juuunx2
07/12/2017 13:22 | Any world in which my bitcoins today are each worth $1,500 more than tgey were yesterday is not driven by logic so why shoukd Amer be zny different? | lucyp00p
07/12/2017 13:09 | responsible. Yes there is such rubbish posted on here, and some of it is unfortunately yours. You never did explain why changed your name, and why you referred to WE in posts inferring you were rather more than a private investor. Lucy. Don't you falter in the face of these doomsayers as the ONLY reason they are here is because they know there is a profit to be had and the more LTH's they can squeeze out the better for them. No institutional buying...well who would buy if they know there is a seller in the market, you would have to pick your time, and of course that is a criticism I do level at Amerisur in keeping holders in the dark whilst the City knows on an almost daily basis who is selling and whether someone has finished selling, although to be fair Im not sure knowing would make things better or worse, but knowing should be a right if others know. But then we should be asking how much institutional selling is there? "Institutional shareholders understand the fundamentals of this company but will not increase their holdings so long as we have such a weak and incompetent Board" NO institutional shareholders if they felt like that would offload and they have not. The reason some have not bought more is clear, and its ridiculous to suggest they know the fundamentals but are not buying because of an incompetent board if the institutions on board seem more than happy to hold. This is a concerted effort by shorters, likely assisted by posters acting for them, knowing its safe until a selldown has almost concluded. With the shorting figures quoted yesterday, that will take a bite out of any remaining holding that RH may be offloading, and this constant how do we know he's selling is just dishonest in my opinion as its the same comment that was made for months and months before Amerisur decided at moments of its own choosing to get the registrar to confirm disposals. At some stage these well informed City firms and their posters on BBs that should not be posting on sites for private investors anyway, will suddenly turn very very positive, having gleaned as many cheap shares as they can off holders losing their nerve. | foiledagain
07/12/2017 11:46 | Suggestion for company slogan. "Amerisur, where investment opportunities go to die" | lucyp00p
07/12/2017 11:33 | We all have our own ideas on why the share price is so low but it all comes down to more selling than buying something which I never seem to get right..oh well!. | bryet
07/12/2017 11:28 | There is so much rubbish written on this blog. The problem is not RH selling but the lack of institutional buying. Institutional shareholders understand the fundamentals of this company but will not increase their holdings so long as we have such a weak and incompetent Board. We need a new Chairman and experienced Oil E&P guys on the Board. I reserve judgement on the CEO whose experience in Colombia is valuable but the failures to increase own reserves and production are disturbing. | responsible investor |
