Malcy today, as if ARCH was a given...why didn't he mention it before then when he was saying *very early* next week. I give up, que sera, it's happening:-

"Two things from Amerisur this morning, what looks like a holding announcement re the OBA in which the company say that they are expecting to start at 1,500 b/d and then presumably ramp up quite swiftly to 5,200 b/d, as soon as the ARCH permit from Ecuador is received. Secondly the plebiscite yesterday went the way of the ‘No vote’ by 0.3%. Word is in from John Wardle in country who says that this should be nothing to worry about and that the ceasefire continues ‘indefinitely’. Interestingly, the FARC areas apparently voted overwhelmingly Yes whilst in more peaceful areas those who hadnt seen violence for some time voted No, allegedly unhappy with the terms agreed. President Santos is getting all parties together and it is expected to have a consensus agreement before too long which will bring long lasting peace."

Another reflection of poor management by Amer senior management .. but OBA will happen .. just more frustrating when this week looked so good.. Ecadorian bureaucrats to sign off how long will that take?

Amerisur Resources Plc ("Amerisur" or the "Company"), the oil and gas producer and explorer focused on South America, is pleased to provide an update on its wholly owned OBA interconnector pipeline between Colombia and Ecuador. Construction is complete and all necessary instrumentation testing has been successfully completed. The full documentation of the line systems, together with the successful testing results have been delivered to SHE / ARCH, the regulatory bodies of Ecuador. As soon as ARCH issues the decree to begin operations pumping will begin at an initial rate of 1,500 BOPD.

Cash opex costs per barrel are expected to reduce from approximately $26 to under $15. In addition to the cost savings, Amerisur OBA and SOTE (Ecuadorian pipeline to the coast) exported crude will receive Oriente plus a quality compensation factor, which has historically approximated to WTI pricing. Current trucked production is sold as South Blend, which is at a discount to WTI.

The Company will provide a further update once oil exports commence.

amer already shown their cards by pumpin 50% capacity when poo in 40's

amer dont want to pump 8kbpd until poo look steady over 50's

that gonna feel like 65pb when goin thru that pipeline

The ability of this b.o.d. to shoot itself in the foot with the absence or timing of announcements is astonishing. They wanted to announce the good news after the successful vote and now, once again appear to be staggeringly inept with their p.r.

Just as surprising as the no vote (to me, an outsider), was the turn-out: only 40%. Democracy in action, eh?
Interestingly, some reports said that the rural districts which were most affected by violence tended to vote yes, while the urban areas (least affected) voted no.
Anyway, it is not a case of: Colombians "say no peace." It is that they say no to this deal.
The talks will resume but it looks like Timochenko will have to give up concessions if they are going to get anywhere.
I am sure they will fly in Bono to sort things out.

Why would lack of Farc deal have any effect on pipeline or Ecuador when it was first mooted before even a ceasefire existed?

Ecuador have their own problems....money

63,000 out of 13,000,000 ballots swung the result on a low turnout of 40%

A majority voting no, but with very few of them not wanting peace

Who can blame some for voting after horrific acts of violence?

Even then the majority no vote was tiny. Less than half of one per cent on that very low turnout of 40% with our usual friend rain playing a part.

Short term it might not be the best result, but long term it is

Important to have an enduring peace and if Colombians do not think it is a fair peace it will not endure.

Ridiculous to mark it down today though, as Amerisur have been in Colombia when no one would touch it, and with a ceasefire agreed by all parties its worlds away from what it was with or without a vote yes, which will follow.
