Re gold, the price has fallen from recent highs, as job data impresses markets and inflations appears to peak, but in reality interest rates will continue to rise and inflation may also continue to rise, it certainly isn't beaten or behind the curve yet.

All eyes on how deep the recession is going forward.

AGM written Q&A 30/6.

Q. Reporting continues to be disappointingly slow and minimal. In these uncertain times the company really needs to be making more regular and timely updates. Especially drilling results, and other relevant information.

A. The point is taken on board that there needs to be an increase in the dissemination of information in relation to the feedback of the Companies activities - the current format of quarterly reporting is to be expanded to make it more encompassing and detailed - and the aim to is disseminate the information within 4 weeks of the quarter end.

How has this turned out so far?

Q2 Production report. Undated but issued 1/8/22. Minamilist. First quarterly since the AGM.
>>> "quarterly reporting is to be expanded to make it more encompassing and detailed" Have they done this?

Q3 Production report. Undated as is usual for this company only but issued 10/11/22.
Content: minamilist. just a few lines with a few comments.
>>> "the aim to is disseminate the information within 4 weeks of the quarter end."

Q4 Production report. 10/2/23. Still not issued with all other LSE miners Q4 production reports out by 31/1.

Same old, same old pattern.
We don't have to do what we say to shareholders so they can just take a running jump .....

What do you expect, bsg? The share price doubled in a month and now the price of gold has fallen from it's recent highs. It's not surprising that the ALTN share price has almost lost half of it's 2023 gain. It's what is known as profit taking.

This seems very out of favour at the moment.

Thinking about it I suspect they'll take their time releasing the q4 figures. They've got a new firm of accountants who I imagine would like to get involved in these and at the same time the accountants have got to learn how everything works. And given that the management really like to concentrate on making the business work rather than worrying about what investors think in the short term, I won't be holding my breath.

The Q4 numbers will likely be broadly in line with previous quarterly reports in my opinion.

The two main stories are Seki upgrade and TS investment decision, and news of these could come at any time in the next few months.

After top slicing in the 90s this is now a strong hold for me.

Looks like some traders got squeezed and could not hold their positions/ or got fed up.

Good positive fundamentals on production for Q4 and the continued news on forward development should confirm upward movement in the share price. They are not particular when they announce the results....could be even tomorrow.

I don't think q4 will be much of a surprise. Main thing will be they've spent some money on equipment to get the new mine going and with a bit of luck slight increase in gold production. I think this share will go up several times at least but those who benefit will be those who hold while it develops out then eventually pays a dividend perhaps in a couple of years, which will bring in a whole new category if investor, and be large enough to attract some funds buying in etc.

I know the feeling. Take someone else's advice, lose money and you've learned nothing. Do it yourself at least maybe you can do a better job next time around!

I doubt Doris read what you said.....it's just spam slightly personalized to make it look different. I think most of us here are here because they're looking at fundamentals, not that a guru says it's going up next week

The west came off the gold standard "temporarily" in 1971 under nixon so he could print money to pay for the Vietnam war.

This also enabled monetary expansion for economic reasons, so the move became perminant.

This means that any fiat currency is unrestrained except by the reasonable behaviour of our leaders.

The various recent wars have severely tested the credibility of the dollar, and sanctions against Iran and Russia have weaponised it, meaning most of the world wants a new trusted reserve currency.

What is more trustworthy than a finite commodity like gold.

Speaking of reasonable politicians, why was truss brought in, and what did she do in that month that any reasonable politicians couldn't?

In that period the Nordstream 2 pipeline was bombed, and pension funds in London got hit, and saved, in a wave of economic turmoil.

Was that by design to "save the world" like Gordon Brown?

Not exactly a smooth price movt.....I guess when govts move the share price, it's public policy. If you or I do it, it's price manipulation........
