05/1/2023 13:13 | Excellence silver like gold is such a manipulated market, even though production from some of the larger players has dropped. Whatever the 'strength of the dollar', if you looked at their balance of payments (and ours) and consider the fiat money printing presses work 24/7, then physical metal looks like a no brainer as sooner rather than later bits of paper just won't do and nor will transferring Comex liability to UK ETF's to hide the paper chase. | pensionplanner
05/1/2023 13:03 | Looking at industrial commodities, oil, copper, nickel, it looks like as we slip into global recession stocks may go into surplus as demand falls and supply is solid. Silver and platinum are interesting, and nickel too, as Russia is a major supplier, but sanctions have mostly focussed on oil and banking so far, helping US frackers finally make profit and allowing them to repay massive debts to the banks. Gold and particularly silver and platinum look very cheap with this backdrop. | excellance
05/1/2023 12:56 | TRADING ECONOMICS Gold Summary Forecast Stats Alerts Export Gold held above $1,850 an ounce on Thursday, hovering near its highest levels in almost seven months amid a general dollar weakness, as investors shrugged off hawkish signals from the US Federal Reserve. Fed policymakers said no interest rate cuts are expected this year and that a restrictive monetary policy would be necessary but left the door open for slower interest rate increases. Concerns over the health of the US economy also supported the metal as the ISM Manufacturing PMI showed that US factory activity contracted for a second month in December while the gauge of prices paid by factories for inputs fell to the lowest level in more than 2-1/2 years. Elsewhere, fresh data for France and Germany suggested inflation in Europe may have peaked. | excellance
05/1/2023 12:47 | I reckon the tide has turned, onwards and upwards (with a few retraces now and again) | sleveen
05/1/2023 12:35 | That's them, at about 93p Bought for 74 a few months back. Didn't want to sell, was painful to do, but the system dictates... Looking forward now not back. | excellance
05/1/2023 12:34 | The chart here almost exactly mirrors another of my gold stocks, AAZ. It also hit a low in mid Oct (mid-60s) and has bounced back to c100p too! Guess this is just moving with the sector and gold price? | king suarez
05/1/2023 12:27 | excellence, I was not doubting you at all? I've never been of the ilk to decry someone else's gain and I despise those who seem to enjoy other people's losses. So good luck to you | pensionplanner
05/1/2023 12:27 | 3*5k @ 4.25/6pm? | sleveen
05/1/2023 12:22 | Sold 15,000 towards close, just a fraction of my holding, and the sells registered as buys because the mm paid above ask. | excellance
05/1/2023 12:18 | excellence. Not my strategy but good luck to you. Weren't that many sold yesterday, as I was still trying to get a few more but couldn't get quantity, so hopefully a few sellers might get me a few more. | pensionplanner
05/1/2023 12:16 | I had a final top up at 93p yday, fully loaded now. Also added GPM. We make plenty of profit at a board assumption of $1700 and i am becoming more confident by the day that gold will end 2023 significantly higher than that. | rimau1 |
