05/5/2017 12:34 | Alphaville :-) We should mention Allied Minds briefly, cos they have a bit of satellite news out this morning PM This BridgeSat thing has got extra funding PM Which is perhaps interesting in that Allied Minds has to get alternative sources of fresh funding now for its underlying ventures PM Cos Invesco is clearly not funding them going forward PM And Woodford is probably too stressed now on the matter to do much more PM For what it's worth, some of the people round the founders reckon the new CEO at the company really doesnt mind about the ever-shrinking share price Allied Minds PLC (ALM:LSE): Last: 145.30, down 3.1 (-2.09%), High: 147.70, Low: 144.00, Volume: 170.97k 12:00 pm PM She hasn't had her options set yet... | philanderer
27/4/2017 17:16 | Does this have a read across to NAV values on WPCT?. Woodford has been right on so much over the years, and this sector he should know like the back of his hand. When he appeared to throw a tantrum early last year about a GSK split (and favoured a four way split) I began to question some of his views. If as an example GSK had acquiesced with ViiV, and spun off 30-35%, the potential loss of revenue over the next decade would be enormous. Maybe he will be right on ALM eventually, interesting to see how this develops. | essentialinvestor
27/4/2017 13:36 | I truly took my eye off the ball here after the rise at the beginning of the year, gutted to have missed out on the profit opportunity. | hpcg

26/4/2017 18:12 | An incredibly detailed analysis, basically infers that this is a ponzu scheme with little or no chance of creating any value for shareholders! | bookbroker

26/4/2017 17:22 | Well worth reading if you have an evening or so spare A really excellent piece of work - OK it may be wrong and Devonshire have a built in interest of depressing the price as acknowledged short - but for an exposition of PIPCO's, the difficulties they face and what appears to have gone wrong at Allied Minds - It is (imo) required reading - Also possibly fora read across for some of the other investee companies in the Patient Capital Fund. | pugugly
24/4/2017 09:37 | I generally agree with Woodrot on this as "short time noise" Especially as the penny is yet to drop on (STI) Spin Tork Idiocy & (FW) Fukinhated Wireloose - the other two worthless companies for the bag holders. | liquidkid

07/4/2017 19:45 | What chances that Invesco will continue to liqidate? High (imo) Remember the first loss is often the samllest loss - Memo to Self - Remember this and do not hope for recovery - It is often like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow - mythical !! | pugugly

06/4/2017 20:03 | His record counts for a hell of a lot, however his reputation was made on value/GARP investments, in profitable and highly cash generative companies. GSK reaffirmed a view again today that pharma is on the cusp of a new era of drug discovery and treatment options. This may be what Woodford sees, however benefiting is a different matter and established global pharma looks the lower risk strategy to me, just IMV. | essentialinvestor
06/4/2017 19:52 | Does woodford's opinion count more than anyone else's. Judging by the performance of so many of his holdings in wpct I think not. I bet he thought ALM was good value when it was over 500p, cir. good value when it was over 300p, ver good value when it wsa over 50 p, dddd good value when it was Over £10, not mentioning the infamous Northwest Biotherapeutics. Otherwise one cannot expalin why he has got them all in his top ten holding at one stage if he was not convinced but we all know what has turned out of his conviction, all of them more than halved in value over a two year space. | riskvsreward
