Allied Irish Bank Group reported very strong Q3 performance mirroring the impressive numbers delivered by its UK High Street counterparts over the past couple of weeks. Both ECB and BoE have started their rate cutting cycles and lower interest rates are feeding through into lending strength. Gross loans increased to €70.4bn, up €3.4bn or 5% since Dec 2023, new lending was up 17% to €10.0bn. Total income increased 7% in the 9 months to September 2024 compared to the prior year period.
