Allied Irish Bank Group reported very strong Q3 performance mirroring the impressive numbers delivered by its UK High Street counterparts over the past couple of weeks. Both ECB and BoE have started their rate cutting cycles and lower interest rates are feeding through into lending strength. Gross loans increased to €70.4bn, up €3.4bn or 5% since Dec 2023, new lending was up 17% to €10.0bn. Total income increased 7% in the 9 months to September 2024 compared to the prior year period. Meanwhile costs were up 6% over the same period...from WealthOracle

Purchase of Ulster bank's tracker mortgage could be an inspired move with interest rates rising. Results due Mar 8th so too late to affect the '22 financials but should benefit '23 onwards

"We back brave" What a bunch of crooks. If you were docile they took the house off you and most likely passed it on to a mate for a fraction and pursued the unfortunate borrower to the grave All walked with payoff and bonus and some still holding directorships in major companies System is rotten AIB and EBS fined record €96.7m over tracker failures https://www.rte.ie/news/business/2022/0623/1306412-aib-tracker-mortgage-fine/

Gross lending figures the same as 2017.

This is a dysfunctional bank.

Largely owned by the Irish state this bank now riddled with cash on a very good yield now flounders at approx 50% of its 2017 flotation price
