18/12/2007 12:12 | Silverthtread, shame I didn't wait for 450 but thought the truth might preasmble the update and AGK volatile recently. Minor compensation rally generally too, Santa? | edjgee
18/12/2007 10:51 | Not an unpleasant trading update: | silverthread
17/12/2007 17:28 | Peaeff, Did you learn anything useful from your conversation with Mr Allen? Are you able to enlighten us, please? | jodi17qad
17/12/2007 17:11 | Delayed so they can include all the good news. | geovest
17/12/2007 16:18 | oops trading satatement delay looks like key! Manyana I think they spout! Profit warning? | edjgee
13/12/2007 21:29 | Sorry Barcelona but I don't want to sound like a know all. I was hoping you might break the habit of a lifetime and tell us something instead. However I decided to ring the company last week to enquire. Spoke to a Mr Allen asked about volatility of share price and his thoughts on the delay of trading statement. Regards PF | peaeff
13/12/2007 17:09 | Excuse my ignorance but what the ....'. going on ? | barcelona4

04/12/2007 16:14 | omalaha & peaeff, Well liquidated some funds and in here again sub 460. H&S looks unlikely with some good stuff coming but delayed. Previously out well above 5. Punted RBS too for yield mainly :last chance:, as I am, convinced news won't shock on the 6th. If it does I'll get drunker at xmas! Growth should compensate for that here as always strong and must be a takeover target for someone. Only a matter of time before that moves again, chinese et al, banks and others. | edjgee
04/12/2007 14:46 | this one has just appeared on my radar and, unless someone can point out some weakness i'm unaware of, looks to be a v.decent buy at this price with a trad update due. seems to be suffering a pre-news slump similar to AHT. | omalaha
28/11/2007 10:34 | edjgee IMHO, I shall be surprised if the delayed update contains anything of a negative nature and neither do I believe it has anything to do with the current share price. There are a couple of matters which they may wish to clarify, apart from the usual reports and forecasts, such as the finalisation of the olympic games contract and the results of tenders submitted in respect of message 104. However, I am hoping that the delay may be in order to perhaps finalise an aquisition or something along those lines. 485p is a very good starting point and if I had funds available I would be buying. DYOR Regards PF | peaeff
27/11/2007 07:48 | Peaeff, late statement is concerning, maybe they have a new accountant! Booked a nice gain on this to well 500 plus. Does the chart look like head and shoulders developing? Or a bounce up from 500 tests coming! Looking to get in here if I can as strong co and takeover potential. If not H&S then not edjgee on this | edjgee
23/11/2007 07:46 | I wonder why the trading statement is so late this year. Usually AGK are creatures of habit so I was expecting one last week if the last 3 years was anythiong to go by. Hopefully it will be to do with further contract wins perhaps connected with above. Regards | peaeff
04/11/2007 20:02 | 5 firms offer to set up rental power plants "The Power Cell yesterday received 13 bids from five companies for installing rental power plants, totalling 250MW power generation capacity, at seven locations for three years, competent sources said. Although the Cell sought bids for the installation of rental power plants in eight locations with total generation of 300MW to ease the country's power crisis before the next irrigation period, no bid was turned in for the eighth location. The Cell would announce the names of qualified bidders by the third week of November after evaluating the bids for their financial and technical aspects. The rental plants can be installed within 120 days of awarding the contract, said official sources..." | bountyhunter

14/10/2007 09:07 | Friday, October 12, 2007: "Following upbeat City presentations hosted by broker Oriel Securities, Aggreko gained 20p to 646 1/2p. Business is apparently booming for the company which provides temporary power supplies to companies and countries hit by catastrophes such as storms and floods." | bountyhunter
11/10/2007 12:23 | an Olympic performance! ;) | bountyhunter

10/10/2007 15:42 | Seems to be hitting new intra day highs every day this week... has anybody got any brokers price targets to hand, please? | eipgam
30/9/2007 21:09 | Yes I agree, but at least shareholders as a whole will benefit slightly in that there will be a few less shares in circulation, so there is a kind of positive I suppose! The Herald on the recent Angola deal: Contract win secures place for Aggreko as African powerhouse | bountyhunter
24/9/2007 13:15 | Very good news. As I've mentioned before, one concern I had with AGK is that there is clearly intense competition in many of their local markets and they have been trying to play to their strengths in terms of size and scale by increasing the proportion of their work on large infrastructure projects like this where their competitive advantage in terms of experience and critical mass really come into play. I saw Bill Mott in the ST yesterday was talking them up largely on the basis of the potential in Africa. | bluebelle |
