Liontrust say takeover undervalues AGK by £300m:

That's about 114p per share.

Sold out a couple of weeks ago for what I paid for them in Nov 2019 i.e. 815p . Got one small dividend out of them .Not prepared to wait as I needed the cash for another investment. GL to all holders I hope you get a counter bid.

Counter-bid in the offing? The ceiling for the share price should be 880p until the XD date and from then 870p,

It WAS a world leader. The competition caught up both in technology and commercial practise (where they 'overtook' AGK

That's what gives it confidence: "the Board has approved the payment of an interim dividend of 5 pence per share for 2020." - While others are withdrawing it.

Anyone else seeing this as an interesting short/medium/long term recovery play? Just took a position this morning, as I'm seeing about 6.30 short term, from current 5.23. Then it began the year at £8, but has been in massive decline since 2012, when it hit £24. It has high quality score 88 on Stocko and counts as one of their 'cash flow cows'. What am I missing? Obviously the COVID has hit its sector, but this is an international business with mcap of 1.3bn.

Fuji's article, above may been instructive as to what lies ahead for the sector. In which AGK stands to recover.

Morning all. Bit quiet here, is the latest thread for AGK?
Bought in today after watching many years, following yesterdays results.
Potential fly of Japanese Olympics but I see since then there is talk of it being delayed, not cancelled.
Business is business, whether it is planned time or a few months later, it's all the same providing dates don't conflict with other big usages, so not too concerned on Olympics front.
I'm happy with slow burners, that I believe this is, and the mindset for future looks optimistic, alongside good fundamentals.

IMO

AGK could be a good buy in front of the Hurricane hitting the US.

Thanks HSBC for upgrade! Would be nice to see a few more shorters close their positions. Particularly Marshall Wace who appear to be the only one increasing their short on AGK for some reason. Would love to see them get burnt!
