12/2/2006 11:33 | Good gracious look at all these comments. What a pleasure to open this thread this morning. Nice post Vince I agree with all you say and it would now appear that internal affairs are being far better managed than in the past. I shouldn't grumble at all because everytime I have invested in AGK I have sold at a nice profit. This is no exception having bought in this time at 2.27p. I wonder if there will be a significant increase in divi or maybe a 'one off special' due to the originally unexpected (2nd half)increase in profits. | peaeff
11/2/2006 20:36 | Hold? Yes, and continue to move on. The share price is now back where it was four years ago and should continue to increase steadily. The client mix and contract distribution is far more varied with a lot less reliance on any one major contract, This was one of the main downfalls four years ago after the last winter olympics when the market over reacted to the non recurring nature of such contracts. The behaviour of the £/$ exchange rate will have a positive effect on this years results (MARK YOU, THE COMPANY HAS ALREADY SAID THAT PROFITS WIL BE IN EXCESS OF ORIGINAL EXPEXTATIONS). The oil price remains high and further business will arise from a variety of oil producing nations needing extra power generation to support these programmes. In the medium to long term with the gas supply problems in UK and Europe a lot more need for standby power supplies will be required from the likes of AGK. My own indicators are continuing to see AGK units at major golf events. Also watch out for AGK credits in on-site reality programmes (I'm a celebrity grt me out of here) | vinceelliott
10/2/2006 22:05 | Their financial year is the same as the calendar year and they will be publishing FY figures in 'Early March' | crispill
10/2/2006 12:20 | Hello there Peaeff, are there results out any time soon? Thanks in advance nighthawk | nighthawk
10/2/2006 11:01 | Well it's got there £3+ but will it hold. Any comments would be appreciated. I can't seem to find any logical reason for the sudden interest but I am hoping that the figures have perhaps leaked to some of the institutions and they like what they hear. | peaeff
06/2/2006 12:54 | Heres a teaser for you chatty AGK people just an occasional response would be appreciated. We know the figures will be good but HOW GOOD?. The constant rise in share price suggests to me that we may well yet be surprised. Here's to £3+ by results day. Any views from anyone of you who make up the 700 trades per day. I can't believe some haven't heard of ADVFN or it's bulletin boards. Regards PF | peaeff
06/1/2006 14:59 | Fidelity Holdings have increased their notifiable interest by 1% that was probably the two large trades that went through on Wednesday | peaeff
03/1/2006 14:50 | ...and not much time at that! | peladon
24/12/2005 11:07 | Good luck to all AGK holders, my personal opinion is that we will have another very good year. Merry Christmas. PS At the moment we are holding at 270p but there is pressure and it's just a matter of time IMO. | peaeff
22/12/2005 19:01 | No problem Peaeff.Just have to open another window.Getting lazy in my old age. | peteh1
22/12/2005 09:08 | Sorry peteh not very technically minded. Incidentaly did you notice the split yesterday. Almost 5mil BUYS and 1/2mil SELLS and the price dropped 1.25p. I can't fathom that one. | peaeff
21/12/2005 17:04 | Anyone know how to place a chart on here.Saves looking elsewhere for it. Otherwise we ought to open a new thread! | peteh1
08/12/2005 13:02 | Barclays PLC have updated their interest in AGK shares 0.81% which roughly, if my maths are correct, suggests an increase in holding of about 840,000 since Nov 2. There certainly appears to be some strength at the present time and I'm not so sure all the value has yet been soaked up. Do we have any accomplished chartists on the thread who can cast their eye over things? | peaeff
06/12/2005 17:20 | I dont want to tempt providence but it does appear that we have broken free of the 250p mark now. The significant thing for me is that these shares have shown great resilience on days when the footsie has been well down and they have performed well on good days, like today for instance. It was nice to see their name on the credits of the 'I'm a celebrity get me out of here' programme as power and lighting providers. Onward and upward eh! Good Luck all. | peaeff
01/12/2005 10:45 | Hi Everyone. I've been into AGK since July 03 (price about 145) having seen it recommended by Peter Shearlock. I got out partly around 190 sometime ago as I was fed up with the bumpy ride but a) the fact that FOUR directors have bought in at around 228 (they're not just after 10% !) b) the fact that the price seems to have broken the 240 to 250 barrier and c) the general moving average ( 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200) trends has caused me to get back in at 245p and 252p. I am not a good chart forecaster but around 300p would seem to be a reasonable mid-term target given the above and the strong daily volumes (circa 1m regularly). Lastly, mid 2001 the share price was 520p - let's hope the directors are working hard to get it back up to that sort of level. Will post again if I see anything anywhere of any interest. Cheers | zjohnz
17/11/2005 10:26 | "This combination of a large number of hurricanes and high temperatures persisting late into the summer season is, in our view, unlikely to recur in future years" This is the comment that has probably caused the pullback, but presumably this is just the directors being cautious. I assume they're not experts on global warming and nor am I but from what I know rising sea temperatures are the cause of more hurricanes. Therefore I would expect in the future increasing likelihood of "a large number of hurricanes and high temperatures persisting late into the summer season" | mog
15/11/2005 17:12 | Another nice little announcement, made unfortunately on a day when the markets were down. I cant see many more coming before the results are due in March 2006 but by then if trading is remaining strong it could still mean a sharp rise maybe towards £3.00. Good luck everyone and a merry Christmas for now. | peaeff
03/11/2005 17:01 | Hi all What a truly great day and having had a look at the split between buys and sells there's not that much between them. (Not that reliable I know) So why has the price risen? Maybe on the strength of the markets in general or perhaps news has reached the parts that we cant get too. However things arn't looking too good for your pull back BONZO20 at present. Upward and onward please !! | peaeff
03/11/2005 14:22 | peteh1 New highs today, the chart looks excellent, looks like a lot more to come out of this one.Looking to top up on the next pull back. | bonzo20
03/11/2005 09:03 | Peteh1 No I don't but I too have noticed obvious interest with institutions as well as Directors. It is also noticeable that a very large percentage of the daily volume is traded 'after hours' so to speak. Looking at today's early trading (not the best guide) it looks to me as though the mm's are trying desperately to gather stock by increasing the spreads Each time they return to sensible levels more buys go through. I think we could have some real excitement over the next couple of months. It would be nice to get another 'trading update' and a few more investors on this BB. | peaeff
02/11/2005 18:20 | Thanks for your comments Peaeff. Would you have any info on that latest RNS out today.Looks like increased holdings by the institutions but don't have previous fiqures to see who is accumuilating. | peteh1
28/10/2005 16:33 | Answer my own question.Nice director buys today. | peteh1 |
