22/9/2005 14:47 | Hi there! I am a stranger to this particular BB but no stranger to AGK having invested, very successfully, in the past. I have now joined the ranks again and whilst one shouldn't gloat about misfortune in the light of recent and expected events this seemed a good time to buy back in. I did consider it at the time of the sunami but funds were fully exposed then, more's the pity, and I didn't want to shift them at that time. AGK to my mind have always had a quite varied and thoroughly international product which will always be in demand and I like the idea that these unexpeted situations crop up which arn't necessarily built into the price. Since the re-structuring things appear to be picking up at pace on a normal trading basis and I am of the opinion that the shares will go from strength to strength. I have found in the past that if anything the board tend to understate achievements which again leaves only good for the upside. The effect of the recent problems in Far East and N.America are likely to assist income for some while to come so what seems a 'one off' now could well for the foreseable future become the norm. Good luck all may all your targets be met. PS I've seen the charts on display but I wouldn't know what any of them meant. Are they good news? | peaeff
15/9/2005 10:50 | Red Army, Agree strong business and excellent set of results, with plenty more upside in a Hurricane Season that lasts from July until December and is forecast by US Hurricane Prediction Centre to have 11 Hurricanes or Tropical Storms in 2005 Added AGK Long target 248.00p then 254.25p then 270.00p | mr ashley james
01/9/2005 09:56 | a pity they took so much capacity out of the US. New Orleans needs all the help it can get | ccnp
31/8/2005 13:24 | disasters are positive for this company...sorry to say. | honiton
23/7/2005 17:51 | This is one of my favourite shares due to the diverse nature of the business and management strengths. The chartists would have seen that big gap to fill and so I am a long term holder. | red army
23/7/2005 17:20 | Any comments on last sunday's Telegraph buisness section, article on a new formula for calculating company value,Aggreko was shown as an example? | tarkwa
08/4/2005 14:50 | LONDON (AFX) - Shares in Aggreko PLC rallied strongly in midafternoon trade, as bid speculation swirled around the UK group, dealers said. "There are reports that Aggreko is set to receive a 240 pence per share bid," said one London-based dealer. Another trader added: "I hear General Electric could be mulling a bid". Aggreko said it knows no reason for the recent movement in its share price. At 12.55 pm, shares in Aggreko were up 15-1/2 pence at 206-1/2. | cockneyrebel
08/4/2005 14:20 | Ask Bain what the new strategy is. Rememeber it is a global business and they have redistrubuted assetts to better enable global response. Our winter is someone elses summer etc etc At least they have stopped the moronesque strategy that says they only chase things like the Olympics. | ccnp
08/4/2005 13:42 | Citywire: Aggreko (AGK) soared 17p to 208p on bid gossip. Traders speculate that General Electric could be likely a predator. | lasata
08/4/2005 12:44 | Good spot Typo. I wonder if there is any substance in this 240p rumour given the "we don't know anything" type of comment from the board. I think they bought some shares recently too............ | doubleorquits
08/4/2005 10:37 | Does anyone know how seasonal earnings are? AGK seem to have done around 7p in H2. I guess tempory power is required more in the winter but they must still get Jan-March in H1. I know in the US they do well out of the Hurricane and Tornado seasons so perhaps H2 is a bit stronger than H1 but still. This new Uganda contract could add to that substantially I guess. 07/4/2005 20:12 | Not just this afternoon...nice rise this past couple of weeks, and on high volume recently too. Is it simply the Uganda project, or something else? Note the director buying three weeks ago. | typo56
07/4/2005 17:54 | nice rise this afternoon | cambium
07/4/2005 17:45 | Making a nice breakout - I bet the Chairman, CEO and FD are pleased that they bought shares recently :-) CR | cockneyrebel

01/2/2005 10:38 | Thats me out - lovely. Current price £1.65p. | eastbourne1982
24/1/2005 14:44 | Well I have started building my long position, current average is £1.5125p. Held a bit back in case we see a dip below £1.50, my short term target is around the £1.60p mark. | eastbourne1982
21/1/2005 09:57 | I'm looking to go long around £1.50p. CCNP - you say it is a 'gambling stock', I have just stumbled across it and view it as a classic trading share - up and down and intend to take advantage of the opportunites provided. | eastbourne1982
20/1/2005 14:15 | The slide may only be a pull back from the sharp rise in December. Positive trading update end November and may benefit from the tsunami by providing power generators to Sri Lanka and Indonesia (if I remember correctly they have an existing long term supply contract with Sri Lanka). | geovest
20/1/2005 10:35 | does anyone have any info on aggreko?.s/s has been on slide since the begining of 2005.any honest and sensible opinion will be appreciated.thank you | dimerose |
