23/6/2023 10:18 | ODEY Asset Management seem to be offloading shares..... | johnywadster
23/6/2023 09:45 | loglorry1 I could explain the whole story but let me just say that the difference between a cyclotron and LIGHT is a bit like the difference between, say, a mainframe computer and a laptop. I could never afford a mainframe computer or install one in my house but I have three laptops. It is why there are so few cyclotrons and most people are treated with the more dangerous radiotherapy. It is because LIGHT has the potential to replace radiotherapy that its potential market is much bigger than the one for cyclotrons In the late 40s/early 50s, the only computers available were massive, and hugely expensive, mainframes that required purpose built buildings to house them, just like present day cyclotrons. It led the Government's senior IT expert to say that the UK would never ever require more than about five computers, in total, to meet all its IT needs. | daijavu
22/6/2023 15:02 | Why is the tech so valuable? Anyone can buy it buy buying the debt for not very much at this point and still they don't. There are already many other proton beam therepy machines on the market. I realise this has some higher power but it doesn't look like that it makes it any more valuable. I think the unfinished tech is rather "meh" and the company is worthless. | loglorry1
20/6/2023 16:01 | The main thing that keeps me invested is the technology. The main thing that worries me is the BoD. The finances shouldn't bother anyone that much because the technology is so valuable that it should outweigh all other considerations and make AVO a must have company to invest in. Unfortunately, the company and investors have been let down by the BoD so often over the 10 years I've been watching AVO, and in and out of holding the shares, that it's no surprise to me that AVO is now in the situation it's in. I'm waiting until the risk of it going into administration is out of the way before I put any more 'real money' in. | daijavu
30/5/2023 21:11 | We shall have to wait and see what happens. | daijavu
30/5/2023 09:00 | "The additional funding received from the Secured Convertible Note aims to provide the Company with a cash runway until towards the end of May 2023." Fat lady about to sing or another extension? | loglorry1
25/5/2023 09:40 | Mark Plesko of Cosylab who seem to be providing software (control system for a linear accelerator) to Advanced Oncotherapy under a Development Agreement has acquired a stack of free AVO shares, instead of a cash payment, in return for Cosylab delivering the control system to AVO. It seems that Mark Plesko has some faith in the LIGHT system and AVO haven't run out of ideas for keeping the show on the road. | daijavu
24/5/2023 08:48 | None of the Directors or major shareholders have sold any shares so, presumably, they must be expecting a positive outcome. | daijavu
19/5/2023 08:04 | Looks expensive at 7p The next round of fund raising is only a few months away | danmart2
19/5/2023 00:57 | Might be worth asking Odey Asset management who recently purchased under 10% and aren't renowned for doing that in companies heading to zero and must believe the company will be bought at a higher price than zero. | pj84
18/5/2023 15:00 | mrmark1, Are you sure? It's just that I was pretty certain that it's heading to zero and likely to go into administration. I could go into great detail if you wanted but the summary should suffice: * Enormous cash burn * New funding needed EVERY month just to keep the lights on * latest funding round has seen horrendous terms that are materially dilutive for shareholders * Material cash funding still needed It strikes me that the only sensible way forward is to sell the assets to a NewCo and burn all the capital providers. But hey, I'm a miserable bear. Can you give any detail on why "AVO might be ready to move up again"? What are the profit forecasts? Revenue forecasts? Cash flow forecasts? JakNife | jaknife
18/5/2023 14:47 | Looks like AVO might be ready to move up again. Limited stock and any sells being bought up. | mrmark1
16/5/2023 08:40 | I'm sure that I'm not the only one to notice that if the stock market rises one day, it tends to mark time, or even fall, the next day as profit takers move in. It often seems to be the case that the bigger the rise the bigger the subsequent fall. If we're lucky we get to keep some of the gains and then see a recovery back to the previous high or even higher in following days. Nothing guaranteed, of course. | daijavu
15/5/2023 08:47 | Daijavue. I agree. The next few months are crucial. The see-saw is balanced and can go either way. Boom or bust ! | altom
14/5/2023 23:33 | I'm possibly one of the posters on here who has the least confidence in the BoD's ability to run the business. However, LIGHT is unique. It has the potential to disrupt the proton therapy market worldwide. The proton therapy market is just one of the potential markets for LIGHT. There is also scanning where proton beams could totally replace, for example, x-rays. There is no doubt whatsoever about the science behind proton beams' ability to do that. It is merely the cost of existing technology that has prevented that happening. Could LIGHT eventually overcome that problem? Maybe. If the BoD can keep AVO going the rewards for LTHs should be immense. | daijavu
05/5/2023 08:49 | I know we're walking a tightrope at the moment but AVO has survived so far and the BoD seem to be doing their best to keep it going. | daijavu
05/5/2023 08:14 | Yes, Daijavu, what will happen next. Another month of funding...we stagger on. Even the directors will surely run out of cash soon enough.... Then what happens. And as for a buyer, there is the chance that any buyer will simply wait for a possible collapse and then buy much lower. We have no magic wand to say we can continue to exist. As for leaving AIM, surely we must have a London listing, otherwise all the shares issued, especially in recent times have to be sold, somehow. Mind, some of them can be cashed in via the company at the value they were issued at. Unlike ours! | gerhart
05/5/2023 07:35 | Further funding secured from directors. I wonder what will happen next? AVO is registering with NASDAQ as well. That could be good for AVO and us if the company leaves the dodgy AIM market | daijavu
04/5/2023 19:33 | Nice to see the board has announced the change in registered office to Harley Street after I mentioned it on 1st April. I wonder how many shorts are remaining after the possible bid situation encouraged those with large short positions to reduce their exposure. Quite a cunning plan to drive the share price up and maybe attract some funding. If you look at the terms of the financing under the loan note agreement it grabs quite a lot of the remaining value in the business if I understand it right. Anyone still holding the shares must have bucketloads of optimism. | kinwah |
