Were an RNS released tomorrow or Friday, confirming completion of the Angolan deal, a long in the tooth cynic might suggest that the huge increase in transaction volume that commenced late this morning, probably occurred immediately following the Company's connections receiving confirmation of the news, and the intention to imminently produce a market communication in this connection.

No one ever got poor underestimating market greed, its the lifeblood of all financial markets. There is a very good reason why 95% of managed equity funds apparently fail to beat the indexes they largely track - its because the actual returns are 'managed' down to that level to the financial benefit of the fund provider through a variety of entirely legal but highly unethical practices.

Has Somaliland Struck it Rich in New Surface Oil Discovery?

Afentra Somaliland Licence status - 'The block is in the Third Period of the exploration term. The Group’s costs associated with the Third and Fourth period work programmes are fully carried by Genel Energy Somaliland Limited.

The Third Period expiry, as described in the 8th Amendment to the PSA, is currently extended by 2 years, as are all subsequent periods. Current expiry date of the Third Period is therefore May 2023'

"The Afentra story is all about the deal with Sonangol whereby Paul McDade and his former Tullow colleagues have picked up a seriously valuable portfolio of acreage in Angola. I have made my position clear since the shares returned to AIM and feel that this deal has incredible upside yet to be fully realised by the market.

However it is worth noting that directors have been buying shares with cash since then which shows just how much they believe in this story. A good initial production story with substantial upside is by no means in the price and the shares are remarkably cheap at this level."

'world balances on the brink of recession.'

The West maybe - much of the developing world is doing very well. India is currently growing at 13.5%, Saudi at 12.2%, Malaysia 8.9%.

The Chinese, Indian and SE Asian economies now have a combined GDP LARGER than the USA and EU put together and are growing at multiples of both.

I think fear is driving markets at the moment.

Another round of rate rises, another round of sanctions, and the world balances on the brink of recession.

How low will oil prices go?

'The Market Timer's Hall of Fame has got no one in it!' ...... is something Warren Buffet likes to quote.

Buying value and having the patience to wait for market greed to play it's role has proved the test of time over many decades as the optimum strategy to generate the best returns.

Talismen Energy wrote the North Sea O&G industry blueprint for that - going from scratch to a multi billion dollar company in less than decade!

Paul Blakeley, after repeating the feat at Talisman SE Asia and now on his way to repeating it again at Jadestone Energy said "You will never see me drilling an exploration well!" Too right ...let someone else take the risk!

Watching this one with interest. Think the Longboat Energy management could learn something here about buying production, and what it can do to a share price and sentiment

Looking forward to the next transformative deal.

"The overall objective we set out over a year ago was to build a material African-focussed oil and gas independent. I see this as the first step of many future acquisitions."

"The longer term is about the next set of deals. So right now we're busy, we're not just busy on Angolan deals, we're very busy looking at a number of other deals that are out there and we want to bring them to fruition. That's what's going to provide long term shareholder growth - this series of accretive deals as we've seen which caused the impact on the share price over the last couple of days."

"This is the start of a journey, it's not the end of a journey. This is the very first rung in the ladder for Afentra. Personally I've been in this journey before starting 20 years ago and that journey went a long way, and I expect this journey to go a long way as well."

"Angola is the first deal through. There's plenty of running room in Angola. I don't think we'll be waiting 6 months...the whole model of Afentra when we set it up, we felt there was a wave coming."
