The latest 20 minute delayed price on santander is 7.81 so thats coming back nicely too.
Presumably, the two are linked now?

The 31p is linked to the effective date of the takeover I think.
The 8.something p is the normal interim divi.

Looking at Santander chart, they have ben trading between 9.5 and 8 euros for the last three months.
Price has dropped in the last few days as the bid has come to light. This is normal for the bidders stock (isn't it?). No reason to assume that once the deal is done and dusted it won't be back to the 9 euro level again?

So the new shares will be worth somewhere near £6 plus the 40p div.
