If Abbey have swung into profit..I can easily see another 3 banks after its blood.

Even if the board agrees, if we shareholders disapproves of the deal, can they still forged ahead? I hope Citibank, BOI etc will come in and make a better offer!!!Rival bids are always good for shareholders. Who knows what the agreement is all about? Maybe the board members was offered some sweetener which is for their benefit than the shareholders!!!

Lloyds quite easily could scupper the deal by putting in a 10bln offer
only to be refused by the Commissioners.
