09/5/2024 14:05 | Well I think all our sense of humour pants have been tested over the years and found to be wanting | thereptile
09/5/2024 11:43 | My sense of humour pants were at the wash, re reading, I can see the intention 😂 | longtallsally
09/5/2024 11:40 | Yes I agree , I was joking | thereptile
09/5/2024 11:40 | crosswires - agreed. No words (unless they're backed up by actual results) are ever going to shift IQE's share price sustainably. But I AM expecting results to improve over the next few years. | lord loads of lolly
09/5/2024 11:08 | I believe Sally is correct. Market has been burned too many times to believe anything they say and all of those occasions are ensconced in near term memory! It doesn’t matter to me as an IQE investor if I have to wait for the proof, just so long as it comes along at some point… | crosswires
09/5/2024 11:05 | That won’t happen this time, “3x revenue and 30% margins” is in theory even better than “inflection point” but hasn’t shifted the share price since announced back in Nov ‘22. This time (and the market conditions are different to 2017) will take proof to shift the share price significantly. | longtallsally
09/5/2024 09:27 | Not so sure Sally The phrase ‘inflection point’ took it from 40p to 180p | thereptile
09/5/2024 08:05 | The only thing we can be certain of is that rhetoric will not shift the IQE share price. | longtallsally
09/5/2024 07:53 | Some more ‘rhetoric&rsqu Ask anyone who’s purchased a hashtag#GaN charger, and they’ll tell you it’s one of the best investments out there! Super-fast charging. More energy efficient. What’s there not to love? But don’t take our word for it, just ask Anthony Spadafora at Tom's Guide. So what’s next for this material? From smart mobile devices to hashtag#AI and even the power grid, hashtag#GaN is poised to revolutionize a wide range sectors and technologies. And IQE, our extensive history with hashtag#GaN, is well-positioned to play a significant role in these advancements. By the way if anyone else is wondering what’s happening in our patent litigation against Tower then join the queue! 🤨. I have asked Americo and Amy at IQE and the answer is “can’t comment due to legal NDA’s and sub judicy” S | sweenoid
08/5/2024 14:21 | I don’t think it’s in doubt that IQE’s revenues (& EBITDA) will pick up in 2024. However, IMHO, Sweenoid’s reaching his usual over-optimistic, join-the-dots conclusions. In April 2024’s FY results, IQE said: “Trading during Q1 has been in line with the Board's expectations and the order book for the remainder of H1 is strengthening. We expect to see this improvement continue through 2024, despite persisting uncertainties in the global economy. Revenue and adjusted EBITDA are expected to be within the range of analyst forecasts for FY 2024* * The analyst range of expectations for FY 2024 revenue are from £133.7m to £153.7m and for adjusted EBITDA from £11.1m to £16.6m.” That’s a million miles away from AWSC’s 276% YTD revenue increase. And unless IQE substantially beats its own very recent guidance, we’re set for yet another loss-making year post- interest, tax, depreciation & other perennial “one-off” So, sure, things look like they’re moving in the right direction. Just not enough yet to radically move the dial. Whenever Sweenoid’s green ticks re-surface, you instantly know there’s a fair way to go still. | lord loads of lolly
08/5/2024 08:11 | So what we’re now saying is that IQE has no excuses but to deliver revenues that outstrip the mediocre analyst projections. I eagerly await any possible July TU and Sept earnings for proof of concept! 😉✅ | longtallsally
08/5/2024 07:51 | Re hutchmeister post Here are the figures he talks about for AWSC 👏 MONTH 2024 2023 YOY CHANGE (MONTH TO MONTH) YOY CHANGE (ACCUMULATED) January 419,884 118,671 253.82% 253.82% February 425,316 104,951 305.25% 277.96% March 441,020 118,053 273.58% 276.44% April 446,544 118,760 276.01% 276.33% So AWSC INCREASED their year on year revenue by 276%! In April. Their revenues in total so far in 2024 are all massively up representing the strength of their Chinese OEM smartphone market. This seems to TIE IN with the Digitimes report saying AWSC are supplying Qualcomm 🙂 So it’s worth reading Qualcomm earnings call transcript from a week ago references to their ANDROID sales ✅✅✅ Some highlights Revenues from our chipset business of $8 billion reflect strong premium tier demand for Android smartphones and continued momentum in automotive. In premium and high-tier smartphones, our Snapdragon mobile platforms continue to set the bar for performance and on-device gen AI capabilities. Recently launched flagship Android devices powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 are seeing strong demand globally, especially in China. Etc etc Looks like AWSC are going to be massive for IQE S | sweenoid
08/5/2024 07:21 | Americo Lemos, CEO of IQE, commented: “IQE is expanding its Wireless addressable market into the Android ecosystem. We are delighted with our successful partnership with AWSC and look forward to continuing as a trusted partner and growing our business together.” Eric Huang, President of AWSC, commented: ‘’We are pleased to be building upon our relationship with IQE, a longstanding and valued partner. The quality of IQE’s products and expertise of its teams make it the ideal choice as we focus on delivering products of the highest standards to our customers on time.’’ | jimboyce

07/5/2024 16:17 | Whilst i’m happy for GF i’d rather see us up another 8% 😉 However I am generally pleased with the consolidation that IQE share price has shown post earnings, although I suspect the markets are close to short term highs so don’t expect the share price to get much above low 30s until we get specific revenue news (perhaps in a July TU). | crosswires

07/5/2024 14:31 | This is interesting - our ex CEO and now President investing ( presumably significantly)in Kubos a microleds company, along with significant others This of note from August 23 Following completion of the funding round in the autumn, Kubos — as a fabless semiconductor company — will open a development office in Wales. This will enable it to continue to benefit from years of collaboration with the South Wales compound semiconductor cluster, specifically the COMPOUND SEMICONDUCTOR CENTRE (CSC, a partnership between Cardiff University and Cardiff-based epiwafer and substrate maker IQE plc) and the Institute of Compound Semiconductors at Cardiff University, where the Kubos LEDs are processed and tested. Now if you look at this years results announcements you will notice IQE in the last year acquired 100% control of the CSC On 22 September 2023, the Group acquired the 50% equity shareholdings of its joint venture partner CSC taking control of the company and increasing its equity ownership to 100%. The acquisition was for total cash consideration of £2,979,000 deferred over a period extending until 1 January 2029 and will enable the Group to exploit technology and commercial relationships developed by CSC to create high-volume manufacturing and sales opportunities, directly align CSC's research and development activities and capabilities with the Group's strategy and take the necessary steps to restructure CSC's business operation and consolidated its activities within the Group. Interesting ✅🤔 S | sweenoid

07/5/2024 12:43 | Global Foundries just said this below, of course what matters to us is their GAN business based in Vermont ( staff of 2000) with big plans, woukd be great if they could give some information about the expansion at Burlington Vermont in the conference call but it’s great that they seem to have a more positive attitude to the inventory situation. Lumentum yesterday also made positive comments in businesses we are involved with. What is 100% sure is that ALL our customers are totally committed to NET ZERO which necessitates compound semiconductors, silicon can’t cut the mustard. "In the first quarter, GF's dedicated teams across the world delivered financial results that exceeded the high end of the guidance ranges we provided in our February earnings release," said Dr. Thomas Caulfield, president and CEO of GF. "As pockets of the semiconductor industry begin to emerge from the inventory correction, our teams are driving foundry innovation and differentiation for our customers across their essential end-markets. We are delighted with the awards from both the U.S. Department of Commerce and New York State to expand our manufacturing capability in the United States, which will complement our unique global capacity offering." Recent Business Highlights As part of the U.S. CHIPS and Science Act, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced $1.5 billion in planned direct funding for GF’s New York and Vermont facilities. The proposed funding will support expansion and technology diversification, enabling secure capacity for automotive, aerospace and defense and other key markets. S | sweenoid
