02/4/2024 17:00 | Last year we had trading updates on 16th Jan and again on 9th Mar with 2022 results on 17/5/23. This year so far just the T Update on 16th Jan. So looks like 2023 results could be anytime from now ‘till mid May. Can never understand how it takes so long to compile factual information, maybe hanging on hoping to add some positive news, can only hope! | theyak
02/4/2024 16:56 | Oh Dear. Sub 20p. Certainly not a time to panic and sell unless one needs the cash. My strategy is to sit resolutely tight and dip in if we go to 17p, Mr Lemos' entry price. It's been said before: good products; good management team; good backing from institutions and possibly a good takeover target. To all fellow holders - good luck! | votiem
02/4/2024 14:27 | Nothing to do with the RNS. Just the market betting against IQE. Plenty of short positions on this share still. Directors will likely buy in again if it goes much below 20p. Likely locked out before the results which can't be more than 1-2 months away. | guildedge
02/4/2024 14:00 | Xylos - I think that’s just a coincidence. Total voting rights are very little changed from January (assuming this is the RNS you’re referring to). More likely the realisation that barring any TU to the contrary, current trading is only in line with market expectations. Which would signify another loss-making year. Whilst this would come as no great surprise, it’s hardly a compelling investment backdrop. I guess a few (sweenoid included) fully expected a TU by now. And the lack of one suggests there’ll be no short term surprises to the upside? | lord loads of lolly
02/4/2024 13:46 | Today's drop seems to have been triggered by the announcement at 10:00 a.m. but I don't see what the problem is. Any ideas?Xylos | a0469514
01/4/2024 12:24 | Game of Clones? Well it IS 1st April | bukko
01/4/2024 11:30 | Lord I am of your same opinion. I'll add only on good news with clear visibility on revenue and good margins. I hope we can reach and breach previous highs, but that valuation has to be justified with current and future earnings. | alotto
01/4/2024 09:40 | alotto - you’re welcome. IQE has been a pretty disheartening share to hold since 2017. But as you say, Lemos’ significant share buys MIGHT signal better times ahead. I continue to hold, but won’t add as I’ve been caught out too many times before. And even Director buys aren’t an infallible guide. | lord loads of lolly
30/3/2024 11:45 | Thanks Lord. That's disheartening. At least Lemons took a position on the back of the drop, which is encouraging | alotto
30/3/2024 09:49 | alotto - Q: “What boosted sentiment when the share price was 180p”? A: Growing profits & revenues, plus the mistaken belief these would continue. | lord loads of lolly
30/3/2024 05:50 | Why at a point the share price was 180? What boosted sentiment back then? | alotto
30/3/2024 05:41 | This more likely the culprit; Nvidia turns up the AI heat with 1,200W Blackwell GPUs Five times the performance of the H100, but you'll need liquid cooling to tame the beast | snaffleclamp
30/3/2024 05:24 | Possibly-or you can just plug your kettle into it 🤣 | snaffleclamp
29/3/2024 17:33 | What does 1.5kw entail? Time travel? | alotto
29/3/2024 17:02 | Did I hear the bloke on Sky News right? That Nvidia chip uses 1.5Kw of power?? | snaffleclamp
28/3/2024 14:30 | Lord lol yes. Compound semiconductors. | alotto
28/3/2024 14:08 | guildedge - there's bound to be more exceptionals. It would be quite exceptional for IQE not to have exceptionals. alotto - you DO realise IQE doesn't make chips? And never has? | lord loads of lolly
28/3/2024 12:54 | 3m pbt? It's 3m EBITDA. Losses will be circa 25m for year as admin costs are close to 30m. Will this include any write downs is another matter. | guildedge
28/3/2024 09:35 | IS there a way to invest in Pragmatic Semiconductors, considering it is not a listed company? | alotto
28/3/2024 09:30 | I guess Pragmatic is not a listed company, or is it me unable to find it? Funny how the RNS from IQE has come days after NVIDIA unveiled a new powerful chip fit for AI applications. Could it be that IQE is a too small of a player to make its way to a significant market and is slipping behind? Re. the last TU, IQE compared Q1 to Q2, but not Q2 to last Q2. It sounds a little alarm bell hinting that Q2 revenue will be down from last Q2. £3 millions PBT is not an impressive figure. We need more and sooner. Soon because technologies get obsoleted pretty quick. Trading update/FY should be in May. I hope for good news then. | alotto
26/3/2024 15:27 | The Jan TU suggested progress in H2. Not really expecting big news now. In theory could still get TU before April. | guildedge
26/3/2024 11:50 | Long&Tall I agree with you | alotto
26/3/2024 11:36 | I think Lemos has informed us ad nausea about CS demand since joining but there is no “ker ching” on the bottom line as yet. That’s what I want to see, as does the market, until then we’re just hearing“noise& | longtallsally
26/3/2024 11:19 | Well I found it informative, and explained why Lemos has said AI can’t happen without Compound Semiconductors - don’t see why anyone should complain about the company keeping us in the loop | snaffleclamp |
