if you think its only worth £5, than what is the point of further buybacks? inflation is the biggest wealth destroyer, government loves it for a reason.

Useful article given the 'miss' on the results yesterday. Still reckon it's worth £5. Analysts still reiterate circa £6.

ABC, I noted the increase in net debt which I found surprising considering this should be a cash cow. Why buy back shares with debt instead of profits? £24bn debt pile. How much does that cost to service?!

From the results, does anyone else see the buybacks as being funded by greater borrowing?Looking forward, 2bn cost savings by end of 2026 with the bulk being in 2026 and including restructuring charges. Sound like either offshoring/redundancies or sell off parts of the business

21% gap to shell over the 1 year, this the worst it ever been?

i guess the 2010 oil spill woulda been worse.

They remain a takeover target especially if the price drops. I'll add on weakness

Because reinvesting in oil is not the strategic direction and investing in renewables does not have a high enough return

What a dog of a share! Why don't they invest the money for buybacks in the business which would produce more revenue and therefore more profit. I've backed a 3 legged horse here! Board of Directors should hang their heads in shame

i like how the greens got nothing to say when housing has gone up over 400% in 25 years, and rents taking up over 50% of a paypacket.

i hate double standards.

love how the greens keep telling us buybacks puts money in our pockets.

funny ive been in bp for 11 years, the share price was higher in 2014.

i can move my money anywhere and get more than BP is offering me. (tax) is the reason i cant.
