GuiZhou ZunYi CATV to Offer Enterprise Data Services Using Ethernet Solution From Riverstone SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Riverstone Networks (Pink Sheets: RSTN), a pioneer in Carrier Ethernet Networks, today announced that Chinese cable operator GuiZhou ZunYi CATV has selected Riverstone's Ethernet routers to provide data services to businesses throughout the city. The deployment marks the cable operator's first venture from residential video and Internet access services into enterprise data services, part of a growing trend among Chinese cable operators. Using Riverstone's RS 8000 and 3000 series of carrier Ethernet routers, CATV seeks to expand its customer base and capture additional revenues by offering Local Area Networks (LANs) and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs). The Ethernet network will provide CATV's enterprise customers with a reliable, cost-effective solution for linking together geographically dispersed offices.
