24/9/2015 02:19 | Update Spoke to liquidators, one more bill to pay, then working out a mount per share There are over 1000 shareholders in wbn so he informs me. Money will be sent out In next two weeks. | theshareguru
23/9/2015 12:02 | Well done Harold! What an achievement. I emailed the liquidator this morning, no reply, they said this week..nothing yet | gismo
23/9/2015 08:13 | Morning, what I would like to know is why isn't Dubai helping it's own people? | gismo
22/9/2015 09:36 | Fut, I agree that we have an advantage being an island. Germany, IMHO, made a mistake in suggesting that they could take 800,000 refugees as all it did was accelerate the flow of people. Their population is also in decline whereas ours is rising rapidly. Politicians are also evading reality. For example, to sustain a population a couple must have 2.1 children. In Spain it is currently 1.3 and Germany 1.5 whereas statistics show that the people currently migrating to Europe will produce at over 5 per couple so where will that leave our culture in 50 to 100 years time? | harold larwood
22/9/2015 08:36 | Morning Fut, oh poor you. Hope you get better soon. Gis | gismo
21/9/2015 17:22 | Evening Gis, suffering with man flu. Sunny all day here, I would keep away from the EU for a bit Harold I can see it turning nasty so pleased we live on an island. | futhark
21/9/2015 12:35 | Morning Harold, well I might see you over there then but we will be heading for the Alps for the fresh air.. too much damp here. Not raining yet, and I can even see a touch of blue sky. Accounts today, trawling through a years worth of invoices. YUK Well this is the week, so they tell me, no pennies showing up yet though. Morning Futters, wherever you might be. | gismo
21/9/2015 09:40 | After a decent weekend, the weather has reverted to normality and it is raining hard. Mrs L conceded over the weekend that France is now a definite possibility. What a result in the RWC over the weekend with the Japanese beating the mighty Boks. I've tried calling all my pals in SA and the lines are all down. The Boks coach is currently seeking political asylum with ISIS in Syria as they will be kinder to him than the SA public. | harold larwood
19/9/2015 12:31 | Afternoon all. Cliveas I spoke to the liquidator last week and apparently he has passed the case onto a fell colleague. He said he has all the names now and the best I could get out of him would be the end of this coming week. We shall see, if not I shall be on the blower again. I don't know, what with the numpties and now the liquidators, I'm worn out with it all... | gismo
18/9/2015 11:28 | Good morning all, Diveas, by the time they have paid the postage there will be nothing left in fact they have asked me for postage and a very small envelope. ;-) | futhark
18/9/2015 08:49 | Hi All any sign of our dosh yet? | cliveas
16/9/2015 17:18 | Good evening all, well it looks like we missed the rain, we only seem to get occasional showers here. | futhark
15/9/2015 09:57 | Morning FUT. Glad that you are on the road to recovery. Gis, I looked at starting a micro brewery at the start of the year but there are just too many start ups in that space and the South West is a small market with high transport costs so decided not to risk what pension I have left. Dave-w, go for it. A lot of fun. Tried my latest brew last night - a pale bitter - and it was amazing the difference in taste as I did 25 litres with one yeast type and another 25 litres with another. Totally different. | harold larwood
14/9/2015 14:07 | Afternoon Futters, I always know when you're here. Ouch I bet that hurt, still it's an improvement and you are getting there now. I shall put your name down for the London Marathon. Miserable here, brighter than it has been but if you get caught in the showers you're drenched! | gismo
14/9/2015 12:53 | Thanks Harold. Very useful info. Nasty squall just come over the Fintry hills but Bens Lomond/Ledi/More bathed in sunshine. Unusual combination. | dave-w
14/9/2015 11:49 | Morning Gis, how did you know I was here? Dull and overcast here. Put all my weight on my bad leg yesterday | futhark
14/9/2015 10:52 | Morning Harold, perhaps you should go into business to recoup some of these lost funds. I shall be glad when we get what we are owed and it's over. Raining here too, buckets! I dream of the Alps, much prefer the white stuff. Morning Futters.. | gismo
14/9/2015 10:27 | Dave-w, First of all, I don't brew from cans but from grain so I buy pale malt, crystal malt chocolate malt etc from a maltster then the hops from the local home brew shop. Yeast is a science in itself but I use the standard ale yeasts such as Nottingham, Safale 04 and Wyeast 1968. I am now starting to harvest the yeast to reduce my costs even further. I use 15 grams per 25 litre batch and let it go over night then give it a good stir the following day to fully rouse it. I use sites like Brewers Friend but there are many others that have good recipes. Camra's book written by Graham Wheeler is very good also as is the Greg Hughes book. I have now worked out a system whereby I can brew in batches of 75 litres using my current equipment so I am able to effectively dull the pain caused by the Numpties who screwed my pension due to their incompetence. Its raining. | harold larwood
12/9/2015 19:08 | Hi Cliveas, I know it's under 005p someone said 0044p who knows, at least the wait is nearly over. I wonder if this thread will keep going... | gismo
12/9/2015 17:59 | Do we know how much per share yet? Do we get a breakdown of where it all went? Something is better than nothing I suppose. | cliveas
12/9/2015 17:23 | Well this coming week we should get our pennies, or so I was told by the liquidator.. | gismo
10/9/2015 08:29 | Morning Harold and all, yep millions of something, frog spawn I think! Had a mad dash up to London then over to Belgium last week, phew enjoyable though. The underground never changes. Saw a great show at the Harold Pinter theatre, Sunny afternoon, Kinks story. Absolutely brilliant if anyone is up there. Minnack theatre yesterday with the grandchildren, beautiful day and the views out along the coast stunning. I spoke to TD Direct Investing regarding Woburn frog spawn yesterday and they said it will go straight back in my nominee account but I can have it transferred to an ISA, which I will to try to recoup some of the losses, sob. Keep up the good work Harold, I shall be up for a pint soon but will bring you a good Cornish wine! | gismo
08/9/2015 19:07 | Harold, where do you get the recipes for these commercial brews? My attempts at home brewing over the years have been dodgey at best. 'Yeasty' doesn't get close!! Can't get close to 25p per pint but at least we still enjoy the likes of St Austell's HSD at £3.25 and Ruddle's County at £3.05 up here in the frozen North. Glad I never moved to Cornwall! I would dearly love to reproduce Harviestoun's now defunct Ptarmigan.... one of the best draft IPA's ever. | dave-w
08/9/2015 10:07 | Gis, is that millions of Lire? We have been well and truly stuffed. Sunny buy cold here - definitely Autumnal. Currently sipping my version of St Austell Brewery's HSD and it is VERY close. In fact so close that my cost of production at 25p a pint makes it far superior beer when the pub price is £4.25. Brilliant, the more I drink the more I save. Long work list from Mrs L this morning so must crack on. | harold larwood |
