03/3/2004 15:51 | Someone has actually paid 100p for VTR shares - only 84 of them mind but its a start. Next stop £1.20 by results | britishbear
02/3/2004 15:29 | Ah, there go the T trades - around £39,000 quids worth. Not bad buys for VTR. Will someone actually pay the big 100p today? Could still look cheap in a few months. | britishbear
02/3/2004 14:31 | For VTR to rise 2.5% on a 2000 buy strikes me as slightly strange. Could mean; a) T trade buy to come through later b) news leaked somewhere c) MM's short on stock and needing to attract sellers (not working at the moment). Anyone got level 2 at the moment - wondering how quickly this could move up if more buys come in | britishbear
02/3/2004 11:28 | Last year there was a trading statement about this time! will look at DATA | hosede
02/3/2004 09:12 | Thanks for the IC report - interesting. A profit of 900K is a BIG % increase on last year (around 80%). This should have a big impact on the share price - hence why the clever money is still buying in as we have another creep up today. This is a sleeper (DATA is in a similar position at the moment and another one to slowly accumulate before the final results in the next month or two). | britishbear
01/3/2004 15:02 | There was a report in IC (small co annual reports suggesting 900k profit this year but no divi yet. Still agreed this is a sleeper. I have been quietly building up | hosede
27/2/2004 21:27 | Up 3.4% today (Friday). Rereading the final report for last year I am buying more whenever possible. I have a strong feeling that we might see the divi reinstated this year. If clipstreams losses have been eliminated there will be a big effect on the bottom line. This is a sleeper - holding and buying. I suggest anyone interested read the final report pdf on VTR's website. (The ADVFN link to the final report is knackered). | britishbear
27/2/2004 08:15 | WPP reported a doubling of profits today - you can be sure that VTR will report a serious improvements in their figures and will jump on results (given the news driven nature of this share). Just a matter of sitting it out (not the most exciting share about - a bit like DATA). | britishbear
25/2/2004 08:08 | Interesting RNS this morning - Clipstream is the internet/high tech area of VTR and if it is doing better then the results of VTR could improve dramatically. Expecting a move to £1 over the short to medium term as I believe VTR has not experinenced the media/advertising and tech rally that we have seen elsewhere. -------------------- RNS Number:7756V VTR PLC 25 February 2004 VTR plc subsidiary Clipstream launches EU grant-aided eTitle project Clipstream, the subsidiary heading VTR plc's Digital Media Services Division, has announced that it is to develop a new software product, eTitle. eTitle, which will be partially funded by an EU grant of Euro1.35 million, payable over the next two years, will address the requirement for EU broadcasters to make subtitles available on an increasing number of television programmesby 2008. | britishbear
19/2/2004 19:54 | First move up for a while - last years interims were end of April 2003 so IF there is to be an up beat trading statement it should come about now (pre-close). Still convinced that the "tech" part of VTR has been overlooked and will be generating revenue that should help VTR's bottom line. | britishbear
22/1/2004 11:19 | Having said that managed to get 5000 online - must have caught the MMs napping! | hosede
22/1/2004 11:16 | No real movement here compared to techs etc. Looking more and more left behind for no good reason, but advertising is certainly picking up and I think it will soon be back to EPS in the 15-20 range and the price will soar by 50-100%. There is a resistance just below 90 - it stuck there for some time several years ago, but It will break thru on some news in due course. Looking to add another 20k or so, but the market is very narrow -its very difficult to deal on line at all | hosede
16/1/2004 13:37 | More volume than usual and almost all buys (8 trades so far). I suspect that there has been a tip somewhere or these are buys ahead of a tip or trading update. Expect news soon (nothing for a while). Hmm, something is going on WPP up from 550 to 640 recently. All advertising companies doing better - VTR just following. | britishbear
12/1/2004 22:41 | Although I am the only one here the news that 1) advertising speading is increasing/recoverin Still confident of a £1 soon enough followed by a restoration of the dividend. Next results will be interesting | britishbear
04/12/2003 11:52 | Massviely oversold according to the RSI(21). Check what happened to the chart after the last time it went below 20. Holding and buying | britishbear
19/11/2003 17:19 | Nice little institutional interest. No information on the buyers though and 10% is getting to be a significant amount if any corporate action kicks off. | britishbear
17/11/2003 11:21 | Rising again slowly - with some good news from the advertising sector this share should continue to drift slowly upwards. Nice and steady - £1 in a month or so. | britishbear
29/10/2003 11:44 | Yes I have been steadily increasing my holding since the price fell to quite ludicrous levels - but I still object to paying 3 or more pence above the quoted middle price - I guess it's just a feeling of being ripped off! I think VTR are definitely regarded as being technically the best in their field, and if they can bring EPS up to and above 20p the shares could get well above £2.00 in a couple of years. A token dividend would have been nice but I suppose reduction of borrowings was more important | hosede
29/10/2003 11:40 | Now UP 14%. Not much buying interest yet but it will come when the news is better known. Then is will really fly. Maybe 15% today and then another 10% tomorrow. Not to be sniffed at. Still a chance to get in below a £1. The last big move lasting for a few days in June moved the share from 48p to 75p approximately. That is a big % rise. Illiquidity means that it can move relatively quickly. | britishbear
29/10/2003 10:23 | Agreed that trading this share is not easy with the spread. It is a share that I have 90% faith in so have just bought and will hold until £1.50. The yield on this share used to be great and I am sure will be reinstated so it is a simple buy and hold strategy. Not an exciting strategy but often profitable if you get in at the bottom. Holding | britishbear
29/10/2003 09:53 | Agreed BB and thanks for posting the results. ADVFN did the same thing to VTR last year! As expected things are steadily improving - just a pity the market is so narrow and the spread is so wide - trading this share is not really feasible | hosede
29/10/2003 08:31 | Check the full results here. AFN's report seems to cut off the results mid-way. The comments on each of VTR's subsids makes excellent reading and suggest they are up beat about virtually all aspects of the company. Looking for a target price of £1.50 and a reactivation of the dividend by this time next year. This share has very little downside and big upside IMO. | britishbear
29/10/2003 08:29 | Results out and a nice little start to the day - 6%. These are pretty good results and the bottom line is, as WPP stated yesterday, there does seem to be a turn around in the advertising market. It never fails to BUY advertising stocks in a bear market. First in, hit hardest, but first out. Clipstream has always been my worry about it being a drain on resources. This continues for now although some progress has been made. Holding | britishbear
19/9/2003 11:14 | I'm sure you are right that the one at 67 is a buy, but why no RNS today? each represents over 12% of the equity. How long do you have before informing the Co. officially about significant holdings? I don't know what the rules are | hosede
19/9/2003 09:06 | h, agreed - interesting trades and all "O"'s. I suspect that these shares would have been placed. Director buys from an institutional seller? It is not an easy one to work out. The recent drift higher suggests it is not simply 3 large sells into the market. The 1.4m could have been a sell at 66 and a buy at 67 of course. Still buying - advertising revenues of the big boys is up so it all bodes well. | britishbear |
