From what we know for the 7 months just reported,if we fast forward to full year results this would equate to:

Turnover 18.2m
Profit 1.7m

And from what I am reading about the future, this would be very conservative indeed.

What PE ratio would that give us,well I can tell you out on the Indian market they are priceing Prime Focus to grow very rapidly indeed.

See Link:

With London being able to use the India operations this should surely give them a huge price advantage.

We will see.

Further to post 40 and 41 Prime Focus stock hitting all time high in India on Friday this is what they said in April prior to results :

"The M&E industry is still at a nascent stage with increased demand from international and local markets expected to increase significantly. In order to meet this growing demand we are ramping up our delivery capabilities in India like with the Royal Palms facility. Additionally with the acquisitions of VTR and Clear in UK recently, Prime Focus is well positioned to take on outsourcing of VFX, animation and post production projects coming in from both the US and UK markets. These initiatives are aimed at creating a seamless delivery model to service the global marketplace."

See link:

Sound good to me.

Further to post 40 above, I would think that ACC Group have a pretty good idea of the potential for VTR having sold them Clear Post Productions back in July last year, taking payment in shares, and then only one month later going back for more and increased their stake !!!

What with Gylenhammar on board as well it could be said that there is indeed some smart money backing this one. We will see.

Yes v it seems new management is getting to grips with this nicely, I like the statement:

"With the Prime Focus India integration with VTR gathering momentum from an operational and sales perspective, I do believe that once this is complete,VTR will see enormous benefits not only in the UK, but globally".

I hold these directly and via ACC GROUP a very small investment co on the plus market (1.42m mkt cap),who own 850,700 shares in VTR value 442,364 today.
They also have over 1m in the bank,a 40% holding in Ceramicoat which do tunnel coatings and linings and fire protection systems for petrochemical and chemical installations their loan of 355,000 is repayable by 31.March.2008.
a holding in Million 2-1 who have just won a contract to power mobile interactivity for UTV flagship show talksport. and 31% in a company called Chaya ltd who do medical assessments to clients of insurance companies.

All that adds up to lot more than 1.42m and if VTR perform as management say they are Bingo !!! We will see.

But as always DYOR.

In case anyone blinked and missed it, the results for the 7 month "year" were sneaked out after the market closed today (link at head of page).

It appears at first glance to be quite a dramatic return to profit with eps 3.6p which annualised (and ignoring any seasonal variations) becomes 6.17 for a p/e 7.2 at 44.5p.

sharw, a good post. Your conclusions seem pretty spot on to me. I sold somewhere in the 80's (I think) but have been watching carefully. This should be a turn around story and I would consider buying in the low 20's if we get there.

Nothing since Oct 4th. on this board and then a post from jessica5. Is there nobody else left? Of course, if I had know what would happen I would have got out 12 months ago when the price was over 90p.

I have been ploughing through the circular which arrived yesterday. More lame excuses on how the "management" were unable to manage and current trading is unprofitable. I suspect that the only reason this was not a complete takeover is that PFL did not have the money - they are floating in May to raise money and have taken out a sort of bridging loan to pay for VTR before then.

Just look at the facts - VTR, lossmaking on a turnover of over £21m., is going to be 55% owned by a company that can earn a profit on a turnover of less than £5m. Of course, the difference in labour rates between Soho and Mumbai helps. At 35p/share VTR is valued at about £3.9m compared with the 31/12 balance sheet of £5.2m.

I suspect that when the dust has settled they may look at incorporating the remaining 45% as a route to a dual listing in London. If that does happen, then the code will require the equivalent of 35p/share at least. On the other hand if they can inject their own mission statement into VTR and turn it round, then we may reach 35p as a result of improved performance.

Whichever way, having got this far (although I wish I hadn't) I think it is now worth holding on.

Proposed Strategic Investment

RNS Number:2132A
VTR PLC
22 March 2006

VTR plc
Statement re Proposed Strategic Investment

The Board today announces that it is in discussions with Prime Focus Limited
("PFL"), one of India's largest post production houses, that might lead to an
investment of approximately #4.5 million being made by PFL in the Company at
around 35 pence per share, which would give PFL a shareholding of approximately
55 per cent. of the enlarged issued share capital of VTR (the "Proposal"). The
Proposal would be subject to, inter alia, the approval of the Company's
shareholders at an extraordinary general meeting.

The Board will advise shareholders of further developments, together with the
background to these discussions, in due course.

I am assuming there is nobody left in this share but if there is they cannot be happy - another warning sneaked out at 3.55. That is poor form, hoping people would not notice. This will fall again tomorrow.

Looking like a basket case - tried to expand too quickly and were too confident. Nasty.

VTR confirms will post FY loss of around 800,000 stg

LONDON (AFX) - Media group VTR PLC confirmed that it will post a loss for
the year to end-August 2005 of around 800,000 stg after the downturn in trading
conditions that was first evident in the spring continued throughout the
remainder of the period.
Notwithstanding this outcome, the group said it was cashflow positive in the
second half, as actions to reduce costs took effect. These initiatives included
a number of job cuts alongside a comprehensive reorganisation of the management
team and redirection of the subsidiaries.
VTR said it aims to return the group to profit in the current year, based on
a realistic estimate of anticipated trading conditions in the media industry.

BB,

VTR - this is too risky to invest at any price. Business is wekening and the debt will kill it off for good.......I for one won't be tempted.

If the silly wet frog is to be believed, TEO will come good big BIG time, I already hold 6m shares, I am confident I shall make good money given time. NO rush anyway, cause I have to wait till mid 2006 for most shares to qualify for the 10% CGT concession, no way I am going to give 40% on my gain to the wasteful govenrment.........LOL!!!

TTC - I think the company is for some reasons doing its best to keep the share price down. Don't understand why they didn't issue RNS on recent agreements signing.
Will add more towards end of year if share price stays low.......LOL!!!

DA - there may be more bad news on the way, new management will clearout all the bad news and has a fresh start. There is also needs to rebuild city confidence, that will require time and solid progress. One to watch and wait I suppose....LOL!!!

There is a share I think will do really well in 2006, will let you know later.......LOL!!!

Maysun, I am sorry to hear that you sold ULT too early - that was a good call of your for once. £150k is not to be sniffed at. I hope you got a good price for your AU. - anything above £3 would be a reasonable price. TEO is a dog ;-)

DA. deserves a closer look - while TTC and VTR remain on a watch list although both look pretty sick at the moment. I suspect IP.access is on its last legs with no buyers seemingly interested. Old tech now I suspect.

Advertising is not picking up as much I as previously thought - competition in VTR's markets are severe. Can't see a quick recovery here.

Seems to have gone low enough now - time to take a detailed look again at VTR. Advertising is still on the floor - that is a problem.

Maysun - good job AU, BLS and KMR are doing well enough to cover my TEO and DA. losses. You must be pleased that you went long AU.
