14/10/2002 14:15 | Thanks hosede, they have moved well this morning, esp with the futures down so much but its not that surprising. They give a divi, are profitable and estimates are for 18p/share this year pbt. That alone makes them too cheap even with advertising being tough at the moment. Von. | vonbrokenburger
14/10/2002 13:15 | You may be right VON the NMS is a pathetic 500 and I tried without success tot buy 5000 this morning at 97.5. The price is up 4.5p without a trade so presume there are other potential buyers but nobody selling | hosede
09/10/2002 09:00 | Thanks hosede, I've picked a few up as the stock has come down recently on small sells which doesn't speak to me of insider knowledge just the general stockmarket malaise thats hit everything. The business appears sound, its growing and gives a decent divi. If they can keep 10p/share in profits I'd be happy at this price but I'll be looking for around the 15p level really. Results should be interesting anyway. Von. | vonbrokenburger
08/10/2002 14:58 | I have a substantial holding in these, and think they will do well in the medium to long term. Media has been an awful sector in the last two years, but VTR seem to have established a high tech niche for themselves involving a high degree of technical excellence. The Prime ent loss was unfortunate but I think will be a one-off. The investment was not of their choosing, but a spin off from the restructuring a few years ago. The shares have fallen sharply in the last couple of weeks suggesting the results may not be as good as expected - the usual "insider trading" perhaps - but the shares are quite a narrow market so small trades have an exaggerated effect | hosede
08/10/2002 09:06 | Has anyone looked at vtr recently? At their interims they made a massive profit but this was murdered by the drop in value of their investment in Priment. Their finals are due on the 30th Oct and should show profits of around 18p/share. I have taken it that they have suffered through lack of newsflow and bad markets but are there any views out there? 03/9/2002 11:51 | VENUS CAN YOU PLEASE LEAVE THIS BB FOR GOOD. NO ONE IS INTERESTED IN YOUR PYRAMID SELLING SCHEMES. CASHEVOLUTION IS NOTHING MORE THAN A CON. YOU ARE NOTHING MORE THAN A CON MAN FOR TRYING TO SELL IT. YOU ARE CLOGGING UP THE BB AND DESTROYING THE VALUE OF IT TO OTHER POSTERS. YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE. PLEASE GO AWAY. | dark matter
03/9/2002 11:50 | Hi Welcome to what I am starting to believe is going to be a great income maker in the not to distant future. I got involved with CASHEVOLUTION not so long ago and already my team is building nicely. As I am sure you have already read, it is quite simply a case of getting people to sign up through your website e.g. mine is WWW.VENUS.CASHEVOLUT The easiest way to start is to explain this system to friends and family. These are the people who will obviously trust you most. Then it is a case of letting the rest of the world know. There are numerous free traffic building sites and classified ad sites which I will list in a minute. These will help you get started but the success rate through these sites is limited. So the more you subscribe to the better your chances. Then of course there is good old leafleting. Takes time, but again, costs next to nothing. I have also had car stickers made displaying my website address. Then of course there is newspaper advertising. Almost certainly the most successful form of advertising. But it costs. I am actually about to put an ad into one of my regional papers. I will let you know how successful it was. Another idea is to speak to your local news agent. For a small fee they may be happy to slip on of your leaflets into each of their papers prior to delivery. I am sure you have now got the jist of what I am trying to say. TELL EVERYONE. So many people are fed up with their work these days, more and more people will be willing to give these ideas a go. Anyway here are those sites I promised: Best of luck. Lets make this work. Regards Gavin | venus

23/12/2000 00:01 | Pegasus Thanks for quick answer, hope MM have a good Festive season | jimmy-mac
22/12/2000 12:07 | Jimmy-mac, A leading question that is well covered in a number of other threads, do a search on 'market maker' or 'MM', should throw up the info you request. May I suggest you consider one of the training courses run by ADVFN. I attended one about 9 months, it was superb. As a quick answer, market makers control the price. IMHO the 4p markdown was a result of the MM's mood. Charlie, While I like the company's market and spread of businesses, share your concern on cash flow. They'll continually need to update their computers & techie gear to compete. Seems a high fixed cost business, £10.1m NAV, I guess it's mostly techie gear and they rent the posh Soho building. Lifted the following from their website, 31 Aug '00 announcement: "Gearing at 31 August 2000 was 98% as against 126% last year. This is a smaller reduction than we had hoped for a year ago but reflects the unusually heavy capital expenditure programme of £5.2 million. Capital expenditure for the current year is budgeted at £3.5 million as against a forecast depreciation charge of £3.6 million. This expenditure includes the cost of the work at 37 Dean Street, a new telecine for The Machine Room and an additional special effects suite for Video Tape Recording. The reduction in gearing is expected to continue during the year." | pegasus
21/12/2000 08:16 | 0815 - No trades but VTR dropped 4 pence, anybody enlighten me. Thanks in anticipation. | jimmy-mac
17/12/2000 17:02 | It will be interesting to see if they do break out. Have you compared them to wie? Slightly different business I know, but same sector. wie is capitalised at 6x nav, vtr is 2x nav. Even if they stay within their trading range there is potential for decent trading profits imo. | hilary
17/12/2000 01:58 | I have been meaning to look at this stock but one negative which was drawn to my attention is that capital expenditure is very high hence cashflow poor. I have not actually investigated this point myself but it may be worth some attention. | charlie
15/12/2000 20:25 | Anyone else following VTR, the film/TV/commericals contractor? Approx 3m (20% of company) shares traded yesterday. My thoughts are; low PE of 8, £7m debt is high but manageable with £2.6m '01 earnings fcst, and it's possibly breaking out of the downtrend going back to December '99. | pegasus |
