23/10/2007 11:06 | I suspect this is why: Speculation that Prime Focus, a post-production and visual effects services player, is in talks to acquire a company in the US involved in the visual effects area of the film industry refuses to die. This, despite the company denying a news report earlier that it was planning an American acquisition. | walker10

11/10/2007 11:32 | "Post our acquisition in the UK, the commercials and the feature film mix is about 50% in features and about 40% through the commercials business. As the requirement in each of these sectors, with regards to visual enhancement is increasing, there will be great growth on the visual effect side. It is pretty much the same, in terms of the structure of how it operates and whether it is for the US or the UK or the Indian market. There is great opportunity on that end and that should sort of help us ramp up our revenues overall, quite significantly". | walker10
09/10/2007 09:20 | Thanks Arty these are drifting away with lack of interest is it a case of having to eat all my words gulp!!! maybe or maybe not,we will see. What I will say is that ACC group over on plus are temporary suspended so my half a percent holding in them is awaiting news. But my best guess about them is a MBO or something similar as they had asset value of over 50p in their last accounts. If this is the route they are taking then I would be suprised if they thought that VTR was not going to perform for them, as they have much riding on them. I would think that they would be a good judge as to their future due to them selling Clear post production to them and taking payment in shares and adding more twice!!! But what do I know. Oh thanks for the info re Byotrol and am watching them from a distance !!! | walker10

Setanta Sports has enlisted the help of North One director Daryl Goodrich and Prime Focus London to create the title sequences for its exclusively live 2007/08 Barclays Premier League coverage. Chick Smith Trott's new commercials for Daihatsu's Terios and Materia are simple but good-looking and cost-effective pieces of communication, neatly reflecting the car's own qualities. The spots were created entirely by PFL's 3D team, using just one photo of the car and a brochure as reference. | walker10

13/9/2007 13:31 | Forget Wellington and San Francisco, there's something special going on in Britain's effects industry. "Yet of course the London operation is only a small part of the story. The Mumbai office is currently hiring 15 new staff every week to keep up with demand, delivering serious manpower but raising difficulties of its own. London staff are currently in India helping to set up a more studio-based approach, which, if successfully introduced, will massively increase the company's potential on the global stage. Proof of its efficacy came with 28 Weeks Later, the first project that Prime Focus undertook internationally. There's a sense of genuine excitement in the company as they look forward to refining their processes and growing even more. "People I'm employing now can see that what we're doing in this building is the future," says John Harvey. "We're no longer just an island it is literally cross-continental." | walker10
13/9/2007 09:08 | This maybe why; "With reference to the news item appearing in a leading web portal titled "Prime Focus likely to make an American acquisition; Deal size likely to be in excess of $ 20-25 min", Prime Focus Ltd has clarified that, the Company has no such proposal at present for the American Acquisition as aforesaid".
