Hi all,

#1672 - most interesting about all the stores around Leeds/W Yorkshire... I agree that some footfall must enter their stores as a result. Hence, this is added to my watchlist and will monitor closely over next few weeks with a view to buying on a continuing uptrend.

Cantor target 17.5p ok thanks for that I did not see that.

I know its not a very nice thing to be saying, but the flooding up north, especially around West Yorkshire over christmas is going to bring a massive unexpected fillip of trade for United Carpets into the new year. They have stores in and around all of the effected areas including Leeds.

I can see another special dividend in 2016 at least 0.5p unless they want to build higher cash balances?

loganair - agree. I share you view growth here is a clear problem for anyone looking to pick them up now and its ironic that the exact reverse of the chain shrinking, that said markets and fortunes change and at the time they could never have second guessed that.

Following the special divi and for that reason and given the known yield it looks fully valued. Hence CF's rating just released:

Most recent broker ratings

19/12/2014 – United Carpets Group had its “Buy” rating reiterated by analysts at Cantor Fitzgerald. They now have a GBP 12.00p price target on the stock.

mrf - I think that most if not all share holders are hoping the divi would be higher for all the shares they own.

Mind you I doubled my holding just after UCG came off suspension and the Dividend I've already received since then means I've already had 50% of that investment returned plus the shares are up 300%.

In my good opinion the directors look after their shareholders and the long term value of the shares they hold very well.

After holding for 10 years, the only thing I have found disappointing is the lack of growth. I remember 10 years ago how the directors were saying that with in the next 3 or 4 years UNG would have 100 stores as they would be expanding at around 10 stores a year. Sadly over these 10 years the number of stores have remained about the same, around 60.

I think some were rather hoping the interim divi would be higher
