25/5/2016 22:50 | Top tiles produced some interesting like for like sales on Tuesday in results. Ucg like for like sales higher than CPR also good signs ahead. | ![]() rolo7

25/5/2016 10:42 | So what is the dividend expectation my guess a final of 0.625p with the 0.125p paid out as the interim gives a total 0.75p gives a 6% approx dividend good for income hunters and leaves a cash buffer on the balance sheet to allow them to grow the dividend even if the profits flat line. Interestingly 0.75p was the amount paid in 2006 ,2007, 2010 and 2011 with 0.83p in 2008 and 0.50 in 2009. Of course I am excluding the one off special dividend of 1p paid last year which actually gives a total of 1.75p. For me 0.75 total none special dividend this year although they could afford more. | ![]() mark1000

21/4/2016 10:02 | I think the furniture and carpet sector is in a sweet spot at present with discretionary spend going into home furnishing as DFS and SCS both had positive updates recently. I suspect this will continue as folk less likely to move whilst house prices at a high but prefer to improve what they have and invest pension freedom money into what they know best...property and their home. I think UCG will do well for at least the next year compared to other retail. The special divi and general yield are good for those looking for income too. | ![]() davidosh

21/4/2016 07:50 | LBO, yes, it's a feature of the company; taking forever to report interims and results... Doesn't mean I have to like it ;-) If you look at they are showing a forecast revenue improvement from 19.1m to 20.7m which is an 8% improvement, so that may imply that margins have improved to lift EPS above the market expectation of a 4% increase. That may be down to an exceptional improvement derived from people buying replacement carpets as a consequence of flood damage. Overall the share is 'solid' but just not exciting enough for me unless, as I mentioned earlier, the share price drifts down between now and June; although a trading statement at the same time as the prelims may not be as positive. | ![]() carcosa
21/4/2016 07:36 | They reported results end of July last year also! And these results are way ahead of expectations "On a like for like basis, sales for the second half increased by 6.4% against the comparable period last year" | lbo
21/4/2016 07:17 | 'The Company expects to announce its final results for the year ended 31 March 2016 towards the end of July 2016' Four months to get the prelims out? Not good! BoD should have much tighter controls in place. Sold my shareholding into the morning bounce. If the share price drifts lower between now and June then it may present another buying opportunity. | ![]() carcosa

16/3/2016 13:50 | MRF - The UCG store portfolio has more or less stabilised I am surprised you say otherwise. Number of stores 31/03/14 59 stores Number of stores 31/03/15 61 stores Most recent figure post 30/09/15 62 stores | ![]() mark1000
16/3/2016 08:39 | CPR are looking effectively ex growth so I agree thats what its all about finding a realistic value. Regards United, not only are they ex growth they are yet to show they have stopped shrinking and the store portfolios stabilised. However that aside a micro cap is never going to command a higher PE for a variety of reasons even if it were for example growing market share. | ![]() my retirement fund
16/3/2016 01:56 | This share has a P/E of about 7 - CPR has much higher P/E is 13/14 is this justified ? for me CPR has been well over valued the fall in their share price has been well overdue and at the current share price is a much more realistic price having nearly halved in the last year. This share could probably pay out another 1p special dividend this year if it wanted to - not saying it will just pointing out the obvious. | ![]() mark1000 |
