The problem now is the combined blocking stake of 25% held between Ashley and JJB.

?????????????????????????????

The link takes you to a Yellow pages search for newsagents

A search of www.dailymail.co.uk does not reveal that.

The Mail quotes the bid price as 190p which is the first time I've seen a figure

any idea on todays trades .....

2 x 14.7 (jjb 14.7)
1 x 14.4

this could be more complex than thought in terms of a buy out
jjb will not sell less than a £2. also where did this stock come from? only 5-6p above todays prices.

jjb 10%
sports direct 15%
barclays 10%
pru 5%

JJB bought their stake for 178.3
the trade is listed twice as 2 lots x 14.7 million...
who did the other trade?
also another trade for 14.4 million at 1.78
all bodes well for monday.... waiting for weekend papers we have lift off £2.00 monday.

good weekend everyone and good luck all. any comments regarding today/monday ?

After close JJB announces has 10%. Possibly the same as Sports Direct - not the bidder but their stake would give them some desirable bargaining power with Nike or whoever. Will no doubt aid speculation in the weekend press which could in turn fuel another rise on Monday.

Good luck with it.In your favour is the fact that compared to say Nike or Adidas, Umbro is tiny and thus they could afford to pay quite a premium and still barely feel it.
