18/10/2007 14:09 | Somethings happening.Would have expected a down day after Russia result. | mikey34
16/10/2007 15:03 | i heard addidas and ashley do not get on but then he does do loads of business with them !!! but he is shrewd so if hes got an inkling addidas are after umbro he will get a stake and they will have to pay him top dollar either way mr ashley knows how to take the city on ...just look at sportsdirect what a deal he holds 51% and control and the city boys are his lap dogs ...reckon addidas would pay 180p ....lowest would be 150p | rallyman2
13/10/2007 13:24 | rumour yesterday i heard is that addidas may be sizing up umbro. ashley already has a r'ship with them and i think they sponsor newcastle. all quite "keep it in the family" the sports industry | upside potential
10/10/2007 21:26 | Looks like a reversal of the previous trend. The logic now would be up to meet some resistance in the 145 area. | mikey34
09/10/2007 19:34 | cleaning up currently here - no interest it seems from elsewhere | upside potential
09/10/2007 09:10 | yep. he's not finished yet either imo | upside potential
09/10/2007 08:15 | The stake building by Ashley continues. | mikey34
08/10/2007 10:42 | probably not broken downtrend yet but i have bought some | upside potential
06/10/2007 12:45 | Well shifting England football shirts is proving a bit of a problem. Question is, when is this stock good value ? Off a 185p high and with Mike Ashley buying and buying more, maybe we are close to a bottom. I note yesterday they had their best day in a while up to 118.5p. With a decent divi to boot and with the possibility of an outright bid from Sports Direct, reckon they look promising. But perhaps Ashley will just be a board room influence........tim Good luck sports fans ! | sharefiend
03/10/2007 16:58 | ashley keeps accumulating away - still believe one day soon this will resemble a rocket - dont mean to ramp - just my suspicion perfect fit for the ashley stable in my view - the england football team sponsor (and more).....come on. | upside potential
21/9/2007 09:09 | amazing how as it is SPD accumulating, the stock is falling completely illogical imo and have been buying | upside potential
21/9/2007 09:00 | Rallyman I agree.Dont forget that Nigel Doughty bought 2.37 million at 167 in March. | mikey34
20/9/2007 23:02 | i think SPD will increase its stake but it will not get umbro on the cheap circa 180p will be about right | rallyman2
19/9/2007 19:22 | Sports Direct International announced today that it has upped its stake to 10.22% and with that the price moved up a penny. Any other potential bidder and the price would have rocketed. Even though SPD is less than half its 12 month high, let us remind ourselves that it has a MCAP of £831m compared to UMB's £172m. It spent £180m on its Adidas stake and seems to have plenty of money to buy back its own shares. Interesting. | sharw
10/9/2007 13:21 | anyone else interested in this down here not just cause of ashley buying but also on fundamentals. i feel fairly sure ashley will increase beyond this maiden stake and umb (england sponsor etc) would ultimately and potentially fit nicely into his ever growing retail stable (empire). | upside potential
16/7/2007 15:11 | boing worth watching now | rocking elmo
12/7/2007 10:49 | There is a state of uncertainty in the market and hence price depending on whether England qualify for Euro 2008. Personally I don't think that England not qualifying will make any long term difference to UMB but the market is worrying about next year's profits. Current odds at Willian Hill: England qualifies 4/7, does not qualify 5/4 | sharw
12/7/2007 10:31 | bet hold on the chart, may bounce here | rocking elmo
16/5/2007 10:39 | Dresdner Kleinwort says buy up to 205p after the trading statement. Broker says: 'There is little detail in Umbro's AGM update but trading is reasssuringly is line with expectations. Sweep | sweep stock
14/5/2007 07:02 | double diamond works wonders? Interesting comments | maiseymouse
18/4/2007 06:57 | Dresdner Kleinwort like this one and have gone for a very punchy price target | maiseymouse
11/4/2007 22:46 | Goodluck all hope it pays off.. | halogen |
