19/7/2003 00:42 | I am basically a chartist and not yet a holder. If present management continues to maintain its good, steady past performance, this one I guess is a pretty safe bet. I think it will retrace to around 510 (mid), at which point I will put my money where my mouth is.Eyes down looking! | alycian
07/7/2003 08:15 | Time to buy ULE...? ( retorical qn ) 4 million pound US defense order today. Should be worth 40p per share. Quiet stock but look at the fundimentals, safe in this military expansionist age. | hectorp
11/12/2002 00:03 | Rhiannon.... I've loved the name ever since the mid-70's and FM gave voice to their music... However....to all those who visit these pages...I am curious..WHAT is happening in the Defence world?..or is it all very HUSH HUSH?.... Surely with conflagration in the middle-east imminent..there's a few contracts being bandied about.. So...with that in mind, why the rise in the share price today to a mid price of 457.5? Surely it can't be the 20odd shares that the directors bought the other day? Curiouser..and curiouser.. Inside knowledge perhaps from the Ministry? Perish the thought that someone should use their inside knowledge to influence buying decisions on their behalf? W. (and for the record..I'm not a holder either..just a watcher from the sidelines...) | wstirrup

18/3/2000 00:43 | ADVFN NewsWire (12:35) - Ultra Electronics Holdings, a group of specialist businesses designing, manufacturing and supporting electronic and electromechanical products and subsystems for the international defence and aerospace markets, announces that two of the company's directors will be retiring later in the year. Ian Yeoman, finance director and company secretary, will be retiring at the end of July. Having spent almost 10 years with Ultra and its predecessors, he has decided to spend more time pursuing other interests. The group is identifying potential candidates to succeed him and a further announcement will be made in due course. Richard Lane, marketing director, has also announced his intention to retire after 15 years with the group and will leave in the summer. Mr. Lane will be replaced by Andy Hamment, currently managing director of the Controls Division. Mr. Hamment joined the group in 1988 and has played an important role in expanding Ultra's presence in the civil aerospace market. He will join the board in the summer once he assumes the role of marketing director. Chairman Peter MacFarlane commented: "On behalf of the board, I would like to wish Ian and Richard the best of luck for the future. They have been part of the executive team, alongside Julian Blogh, that has guided Ultra through a number of key milestones, including a successful flotation and a number of strategic acquisitions. "We look forward to welcoming Andy Hamment to the board in due course and are confident that he will be an excellent successor to Richard." dw | derek wild
