03/8/2016 07:39 | From the ITwire interview about 8 mins 30 secs in for the next 30 secs you'll hear "transformative technology" "dream team at every level" "this isn't about an app, it's about a platform play" "great margins in the platform world" They are holding a Q&A webinar next Wednesday morning 1am UK time LOTM | last of the mohicans
01/8/2016 09:04 | Good stuff LOTM. My inclination is to wait until it starts to rise before buying more. This may prove to be the wrong decision but hey ho. I've tidied up the header in order to accommodate more news. | horneblower
01/8/2016 02:07 | Syntonic have given up some short term $$$ that we don't need right now in return for a much bigger slice of the pie longer term. If you stop & think about it for a minute that's a great outcome. We'll now be able to squeeze a bigger long term share of the revenue pie out of all the other Telco's that come along wanting an alliance. Given how low our cost base is this should translate into bigger future profits. Tata wouldn't sign up for such a long term deal unless they were really sure that this was the right transactions for them given they service 24% of the overall market. Oh Happy Days are just starting. LOTM | last of the mohicans
01/8/2016 02:01 | Well done Horneblower, You'll just love these :) :) :) Big news on Syntonic front - News just released to the ASX & a video that only went out Sunday I believe look at all the big names they've got when you see the phone demo's, not to mention the length of the list. Now getting mentioned in Malaysia BB's Just wait until they roll it out to Indonesia !!! If it's not a Billion dollar company by this time next year I'll be totally shocked after today's announcement. (Yes you can quote me on that in a year's time if you like) LOTM | last of the mohicans
29/7/2016 08:54 | Still failing to set the world alight. The major question mark for me over this stock is why it chose to float on ASX not NASDAQ? | horneblower
26/7/2016 08:18 | advfn have kindly concatenated the old chart history to the new SYT chart above. Hopefully we will soon begin to move northwards away from the 3cents area. | horneblower
21/7/2016 17:43 | Yes share price performance thus far hasn't been exactly what I was expecting. Trouble is we don't know who got the 100 M placement shares (probably clients/friends of the broker involved). Only needs a couple of institutions to see the potential & the supply will be gone in an instant. Some pro's are working it at the moment to build holdings as the do with lots of ASX stocks. Latest Presentation, with some interesting stuff in it LOTM | last of the mohicans
21/7/2016 08:36 | Hasn't exactly set the world alight overnight. I've asked advfn to concatenate the old and new charts. We'll see. | horneblower
20/7/2016 13:50 | Well done horneblower :) lets see who all arrives. I suggest you have a read of this !! :) If lawyer's are saying that to there clients, in other words advising them to get in touch because the Syntonic product covers this issue. It follows that they'll buy the product, after all they follow there lawyers advice & don't want caught up in length & costly lawsuits. When in effect a simple product purchase covers it & saves them money at the same time (and enhances productivity). -------------------- * Localization support in Malay(Malaysia) and Bahasa(Indonesia) Is the key new feature in version 2.0.6 In other words getting it ready for the SEA launch. Other's haven't worked it out yet, but I'm sure they will have needed to do that so that the "white label" product has that feature for Telco's. Starting with Tata LOTM | last of the mohicans
20/7/2016 09:45 | Suggestions welcome. For instance, I could create a new one without the SYT epic, but this might make it untraceable. I could add reference to the old Pacific Ore thread and I could add the old PSF charts, but possibly the chart history will be added to SYT at some point. | horneblower

10/2/2002 15:27 | United Auto of America is the bidder as reported in the mail, telegraph, sunday times and sunday business. the latter mentioning a figure of £100m which means a 25% premium on current price. | netsurfer
08/2/2002 21:25 | vardy could be a possible, caffyns definately not ambitious enough, my bet is the penske group from usa who have recently aquired some sites from mercedes in milton keynes and is known in the trade as wanting to expand in uk and have the money to buy. the big problem for any buyer is gainaing permission fromeach manufacturer to continue with the franchise and this would swing favour to penske as the manufacturers would not want the likes of vardy to hold too many of their dealerships. sytner group very well run and does attract the better motor trade management unlike some groups such as emh who have a great franchise portfolio and hence performs reasonably despite mediocre management imo. it will be interesting to see who the bidder turns out to be. | gutterhead
05/2/2002 10:53 | TO: jpollock. You put the original posting here. Did you hold? What are you into at the moment? "Appearing" on any other BBs? | gorwel
05/2/2002 10:48 | Anybody any thought on the Lancaster Group. They have recently sold 50 odd PSA dealers in France and have lost a few Merc dealers in the reshuffle.Buying Sytner would give them a very strong portfollio. | lawt
05/2/2002 09:08 | The Times cast doubt on Vardy as a bidder, on the grounds that they like to buy firms that own most of their freeholds. Just looking at Sytner's NAV of 45p shows that they clearly don't. With news of the new EU rules expected today it just introduces uncertainty to the sector. I have also been a fan of he sector over the past couple of years, especially EMH, but find the impact of the ending of block exemption hard to figure out. Inchcape ruled itself out as a bidder according to the ft | boesky
05/2/2002 09:07 | Agree with you both. We're not all obsessed with get rich/poor quick techs. My motors and house builders have done nicely. I still don't know who the bidder is, do you? VDY and PDG down this morning. I'd have thought PDG would be too small to take on SYT. Also agree on Caffyns. Great value play as it trades at about half net tangible asset value. Assets are mostly property - some of it liable to flooding mind! Given the voting rights I don't think it wouldn't be possible to have a takeover without the approval of the Caffyn family. | richardjo

04/2/2002 21:43 | You're not alone. I think the bidder could be VDY? VDY are cheap as well, and they are a much better quality play than Synter. VDY are going somewhere - just look at their management team - all in their 30s. Another t/o candidate is Caffryns. This sector is likely to see consolidation with the EU ruling on motoring opt out due this spring. | honiton
04/2/2002 20:45 | Well the title of this thread could not be more appropriate! While thousands agonise over the prospects for alternate telcos, not a single posting has appeared on Sytner today despite the price soaring on a possible bid. Even without this news, the price has gone up a lot since I bought several chunks at around 110p last year - they are now 270p. Why does the BB tend to ignore value shares and sectors? Auto distributors have done well over the last year but get little interest. House builders have been another success story with relatively little attention and may have further to go. Ah well.....I'll just have to take my profits and accept that I have nobody to talk to. Now, what's the next undervalued sector..... | bigbertie
05/9/2001 11:49 | The market is weak but this has gone up another 3 today to 236. Still hoping for good interims. The motor trade appears strong and anecdotal evidence also suggests that the higher end of the market has been particularly good. This is an area where Sytner is well represented, so here's hoping. Cheers M. | theophilus
31/8/2001 11:19 | Again nothing spectacular but up 3.5 at 233. Looks like someone is hoping for good figures and forecasts at the interim - I know I am. A large trade of 200,000 wnet through Cheers Th. | theophilus
29/8/2001 00:09 | Again nothing wildly exciting but already up 3 today to 230. looking forward to good results + a good forward looking statement. Cheers Th. | theophilus |
