04/7/2005 21:27 | Impressed kuqi by Director buy? Shouldn't you be buying or are you dumping??/ | qut
02/7/2005 20:58 | Kuqi - with the recent announcements re PMD do you think they might survive or do you reckon they're doomed? | qut
01/7/2005 12:21 | ...er yeah...! Lets have some substance behind your claims please qut. After another dismal set of results (3rd year running) you'd think the CEO and his chums would have worked it out by now..! That little bit of window dressing SPB to SPM just doesn't cut it with me. They're an old style company trying to make way in a new style era (viz-a-vie initially publishing and now new media). Until we see some major shift in company philosophy and subsequent direction, the share price is going to drift around aimlessly. a Big speculative punt.... | mister tomato
28/6/2005 23:44 | Price about to take off. IMHO | qut
17/6/2005 21:19 | qut, are we also investment mates with Profile Media, as I've seen you post on there a couple of time too (well, a couple more LOL's anyway). I bought the odd few thousand the other day. Do you reckon it's a good investment? Now that's what I call good timing - or was it just the masterstroke of a stock market genius? 0) Top share price riser of the day. wooohooo! Another decent rise on Moday too, methinks. I can predict decent share price risers, but obviously not the date of spm's release of final year results. End of this week? It's been and gone, and still no news. Oh well, I'm sure it'll be next week. Right now I'm off to the pub to part with some of the winnings from PMD. I might even chip in a round for some of the regulars, as I'm that kind of jovial, fun loving guy. 0) | kuqi
15/6/2005 23:57 | good one kuqi - as sharp as ever! | qut
14/6/2005 20:22 | Believe it or not, I am very relaxed, and even my wasted investment in spm can't get to me. Sorry, but I realise now that irony doesn't come across too well on a message board, and it's only tongue in cheek (although they do say that many a true word is spoken in jest). As I said before, I'm just holding this stock for the comedy value these days. I really don't care which way the price goes. It'll never make me anything so what the heck. I'm getting a few laughs along the way, and if I ever do make a profit some time in the next thirty years or so, it'll be a bonus. I've got several other investments which I take much more seriously, and if they started going the way of spm over the last few years, then I really would start getting ever so slightly depressed. This is kuqi, full of the joys of summer, signing off for now. ps By the way, why would my children want to hang you? | kuqi
13/6/2005 23:37 | If last year's timings are anything to go by, the results should be out towards the back end of this week. I had noticed the larger buys but, however strange it may seem, I can assure you it's nothing to do with me. 0) What I find unbelievable is the permanent exceptional item of property provisions. I see in the last trading statement, the company advised that it's to provide for 17,000 sq ft of unoccupied space to cover the next three years, hitting the accounts with £2.5m this year. By my reckoning, that's the best part of £4m chucked down the drain on unoccupied property provisions over the last three years. The question is, how have they so mismanaged their accomodation that they have so much prime office space collecting dust over such a long period of time? How and why did they manage to acquire so much of it, and just what are they doing/have they done to try and sublet it? Just when do these ridiculous leases end? Yes, I know that if they manage to sublet the premises in the future, they'll have a nice little bonus by being able to release the provisions, but by the sound of it, they haven't been very successful in shifting the space over the last few years. On the face of it, it seems like they're playing some kind of real life Monopoly. Arrive at an office block and stick a company logo on it. Is this the real reason they've moved into India.......because they've rented every conceiveable piece of vacant office space in London? | kuqi
12/6/2005 23:04 | All I can say there has been some reasonably hefty buying recently, although some smaller sells as well. When exactly are results? | qut
12/6/2005 20:07 | Sorry you're missing me qut, and I'll try not to leave it so long between visits next time, as I know you're pining for my outrageous optimism. 0) I'm still just about in the land of the living, which could almost be a pretty good description of spm. Not a lot going on around these parts lately, and it's sort of making a night time episode of Big Brother seem rivetting. Oh well, can't be more than a few days to the BIG ONE - annual results time. D'ya reckon turnover will break £22m? Can't say I'm too hopeful about it, but there's one or two areas of the results I'm really loking forward to scrutinising, given what's been said over the last couple of years. frances2, haven't I heard that 20p soon comment on this board before? By the way, where is Kitkat these days? Haven't heard the "20p then on to 50p" spiel for some time now and I'm kinda missing it. Don't say that after all that bigging up of the share price, Kitkat bailed out and left me holding all this garba....er, spm stock. | kuqi
05/6/2005 21:52 | don't tell kuqi! lol | qut
04/6/2005 22:54 | maybe sooner than you think | qut
03/6/2005 22:19 | 20p cometh soooooon | frances2
03/6/2005 22:16 | or is it Kuqi's rigor mortis? | qut
03/6/2005 19:54 | is SPG beginning to twitch? serious answers only. | qut
02/6/2005 08:55 | kuqi - you're the ray of sunshine!! | qut
01/6/2005 23:49 | "Has kuqi kicked the bucket?" Nah, I'm still hanging on for the telegram from HRH. ;) "anybody know when results due?" Last year they were announced on 15th June, so I'd expect it to be around the same time this year. Oh goody, only two more weeks to wait for "difficult market conditions", "strengthening board and management", "cautiously optimistic" etc. etc. Based on half year figures and subsequent trading statement, I can't see turnover being any more than around £21m, which will be the lowest annual turnover for gawd knows how many years, so what rays of sunshine are you hoping to gleam from the figures when they're announced? "I'm only 21 Kuqi!" I dunno, these youngsters today, eh? | kuqi
01/6/2005 22:37 | Has kuqi kicked the bucket? | qut
01/6/2005 20:25 | anybody know when results due? | qut
30/5/2005 21:03 | I'm only 21 Kuqi! | qut
30/5/2005 13:05 | 95? If I was, that'd put my life expectancy at around 120 if I was still to be alive when the bid price got back to 20p. That is, if it ever gets back to those heady heights at all. ;) With that confidence, I assume it wasn't you who dumped 680,000 of the things the other day then, qut? | kuqi |
