I am here now...long day at work today so unable to monitor what is going on at SPM...yes we have a lift off...I have been pounding on the table regarding SPM for a long time...since the start of this new thread...I am sure you have noticed from my previous posts...when I was also feeling lonely here at SPM...

I still feel either there will be an aquisition in the pipeline or get taken over...

Away from SPM...small caps have lagged behind in the last 6 months...talk of interest rates coming down again in the new year will bring small caps into play again...

seems to be a shortage of stock

mm buying at 17p (0.5p better) and selling at 17.8p ( only 0.2p)

I am trying to get hold of the full Edison note from 24th Nov, which I am told tells the story. Anybody got the note? Would appreciate any comments.

Be a bit careful with these - have held them for years and they haven't really delivered. Also, note that the interims say they expect a "further modest improvement" in financial performance in the second half. Well, given that operating profit pre-exceptionals was only 143k in the first half, I don't see how that equates to pretax of 600k for the year as per the forecasts. And I think a rise to 1.5mm pretax for 2006 is taking an awful lot for granted.

Having said that, it's nice to see these perking up finally. Just don't get too carried away as not alot of their new strategy has been proved yet.

For the record, the 25,000 appearing as a sell @17 was a buy about an hour and a half ago.

Been watching for a while, I like the potential gearing of this company. It appears that they have got the structure in much better shape to take advantage.

Concensus has growth rates of 250% & 155% giving a 2006 per of under 8, which is too low for this potential. cash flow has always been positive, even in the bad times, plus 16 Nov "Financial performance is ahead of plan" so on the back of the director buy I have had a little dive this morning.

Its at a six month high and debt is a mere £0.5m
Its trying to drop its traditional behaviour to shareholders where its salesmen (most of its staff are bought stolen & borrowed and there for 4 weeks, if they miss target its goodbye), its winning salespeople take all the profit so one year it loses £10m the next it makes £50,ooo profit
14p shows a lot of people believe it is really changing its spots.
Earlier this year it was on my buy list only at 5p

SPM reminds me of a stock I used to follow...ticker symbol TRS in the media sector around Jan 2003.At the time it was trading around 20p. My heart was telling me to buy but my head was telling me not to buy. At the end I ended up doing nothing. Today they are trading around £1.20...It was a stock that did not have much followers...That's the way it goes...
