Yes - it does look nicely poised for lift off with any kind of favourable news.

I still think the furious ramping of some other shares on AIM is letting SMA go under the radar, but who am I to complain given I got in while it was still quiet ?

Results due soon - promises to be fireworks if there is any kind of strategic development.

I was looking back again at the RNS history on the company website yesterday evening.

I was struck by how there was a constant flow of news between the results in September 2015 and then through to December.

This year SMA have had their personnel reshuffle and co results are due I think very soon now. But the co have been quiet in reporting to the market for a while this year. I don't think that's indolence on their part - just that news hasn't broken yet.

It promises to be an interesting few months coming up starting any day now. The trades and price movement over the last few months do suggest to me a few folks have been building positions, but I have the impression that other AIM darlings are occupying people's attention for now, so a few companies like SMA have slipped through the net and gone unnoticed.

Not to worry - I prefer to do my buying when it's quiet and I'm in now...

Any suggestions on when we should expect the next update ?

Sovereign Mines of Africa Plc announces that it has granted a total of 22,000,000 warrants over Ordinary Shares to Jeremy Sparrow following his appointment as a Non-Executive director on the 18 July 2016. Jeremy Sparrow is not taking any fees in relation to his appointment to the board of the Company and has in lieu of such been granted the 22,000,000 warrants.

Each warrant entitles the holder to subscribe for one Ordinary Share at the price of 0.23 pence per share. 11,000,000 warrants may be exercised from 28 July 2016 until 29 July 2021. The remaining 11,000,000 warrants are exercisable on the execution of a reverse takeover by the Company.

It was the appointment of Jeremy Sparrow that caught my attention. I don't know him personally, but it is an impressive CV and when it comes to funding and financing he's obviously a man of action rather than words, which I like.

SMA clearly didn't bring him on board just to twiddle his thumbs and collect a salary, and I think I'm correct in saying there has been no major news since his appointment, so developments ought to be due.

We'll know soon enough I expect - I wouldn't be surprised to see some smart money turning up shortly which should give the share price a nice lift and act as a platform for news.

Welcome FlyingC. Seems to me you are pretty much on the nail there. When this goes it flies.

Could be our current interests come in to the fore again or may be Jeremy takes the company on a different journey. Seems to me something may be happening in the background.

I am sure that 3.6m buyer will at least want to double their money ;-)

Mind if I join you all briefly ?

I normally post elsewhere on ADVFN but I've taken a small position in SMA as it strikes me there is a lot of untapped potential here, results are due and the focus of the market seems to be on more fashionable stocks being touted furiously.

SMA on the other hand seem to have gone under the radar after ebola and their personnel changes, but the gold is obviously there and I like the government stake in the company. Quite innovative that I thought.

I'm not sure I'll be in for ever and a day like some of my investments, but I just have the feeling something is on the way for SMA, and the appointment of Jeremy Sparrow would tend to suggest we should expect developments soon (he's been in post for a couple of months now - time for him to start earning his keep I should think...)

I like the low market cap too - doesn't take much of a gold find to send the share price through the roof. Any positives I'm missing as we wait for the results and the next update ?

Anyway, that's my 2p worth (which coincidentally would be a fair share price IMVHO). Happy to hear what others make of SMA and why.
